LIFE’S TEACHERS

Swan with seaweed in its beak looks at a fluffy gray cygnet in calm blue water. Light sparkles on the water, creating a serene scene.

“Man learns through experience, and the spiritual path is full of different kinds of experiences. He will encounter many difficulties and obstacles, and they are the very experiences he needs to encourage and complete the cleansing process."  - Sai Baba

There is something about being in India that gently insists you look inward. Perhaps it is the rhythm of the chants drifting from temples, the scent of incense curling through the air, or the sacred silence that follows a crowded street once you close your eyes. Here, the soul feels invited—sometimes compelled—to remember why it came. Many years ago, when I found myself in one of the lowest valleys of my life, I stumbled upon a simple meditation that shifted everything. Instead of encouraging me to relive the pain, it asked me to honor the experience. It spoke of how every moment we have lived—every joy, every sorrow, every seeming mistake—has shaped the person we are becoming. I remember sitting very still, breathing that truth in, realizing for the first time that I did not need to judge my past. I only needed to understand it. That teaching has stayed with me ever since. Here in India, that wisdom feels amplified. The sages and saints have long taught that experience itself is neutral. It is neither good nor bad, neither blessing nor burden. It simply is. Like a guru appearing on the path, each experience arrives with a lesson wrapped inside. How we receive it—through resistance or acceptance—determines how gently or forcefully that lesson unfolds.

How many times in life do we find ourselves standing at a familiar crossroads? The scenery may change, the faces may be different, yet the feeling whispers, “I’ve been here before.” And we wonder how, once again, we arrived at the same place. In the ancient teachings, this is not punishment; it is grace. When a lesson remains unfinished, life lovingly offers us another opportunity to learn it. If we turn away, it will return. If we deny it, it will wait. If we embrace it, it will transform us. As I sit with a warm cup of chai, watching life flow effortlessly around me, I am reminded that cleansing is not about erasing the past. It is about allowing each experience to wash through us, leaving us clearer, lighter, and more awake. Just as the Ganges carries prayers upon its waters, so too do our experiences carry wisdom—if we are willing to receive it.

Dear Angels, how can I stop repeating the same painful lessons and finally learn what my soul is asking of me?

Dear Ones, nothing in your life has been wasted—not a single tear, not a single detour. When a lesson repeats, it is not because you have failed, but because your soul is ready to see more clearly. Release the judgment you place upon your experiences. They are sacred teachers, perfectly designed for your awakening. When you meet them with curiosity instead of resistance, compassion instead of fear, the lesson completes itself naturally. Trust that each step on your path is leading you toward greater wholeness. You are guided, you are protected, and you are learning exactly what you came here to learn.

Angels Whisper:  Every experience is a doorway. Walk through it with an open heart, and you will find the wisdom you seek waiting on the other side.

Today, I promise to fully embrace each experience as my teachers in life.
