Standing On The Edge
How many times have you heard me cry out "God please take this"? How many times have you given me strength to Just keep breathing? Oh I need you God I need you now. – Need You Now by Plumb
When is the last time you cried out like the lyrics in that song, God I need you now? So many times we wait until things look hopeless and there is nowhere else to turn before we look up. In self-help programs they call that hitting rock bottom. It’s that point of no return, usually when all resources are gone and all bridges burned. It’s where we run into ourselves. Yes, I’m speaking from experience here. It’s not a pretty place to be. It’s scary and lonely as hell. Many do not come back from that place. It’s where they make their exit seeing no other way out. In my lifetime I have counseled many who stood on that cliff with one foot poised over the edge and one hand outstretched hoping for a glimmer of a lifeline. I was good at what I did because I too had stood on that very cliff. I knew the pain, the heartache, the desire to weep no more. When you are at that point you are seeing the world as hostile and daring others to prove you wrong. Angels, how can those who are on the precipice see the light shining in the darkness?
Dear Ones, we are here to share with you that there is nothing wrong with your world, nothing to be "fixed" or repaired. When you look around you, you are looking with your third dimensional eyes and seeing through mud. Nothing seems clear, but rather confused and chaotic. Is it really? We invite you to look again and this time look with your spiritual mind. That brother who is spewing hate language and lashing out in anger is crying for you to see the real him - the one who is the little child cowering in the corner. You will not reach him by reacting to what you are perceiving as hate but by looking beyond it to the fear. We implore you, Dear Ones, to become more accepting of each other, to show kindness instead of indifference. Look deeper, look with eyes of love and truly see where the hurt is coming from. People are starving all around you while you fill your bellies unconcerned about them. Judgment and criticism are breeding a new generation of callousness. Teach the children about kindness. Show them by example what compassion looks like. When the scale of compassion and love energy is fuller than the scale of hate and indifference, your Earth will come back into balance. Again, there is nothing to fix. There is no remedy needed for the chaos other than to see the perfection in each other. Let that be your goal and write it on your wall to remind you in case you start to slip back into the mud. You are waking up to a new reality, a new awareness of unity. It is beautiful and if you look closely you will find your beautiful self in everyone you see. Love deeper, forgive easier. Catch your brother when he can’t stand any longer. Hold your sister when she lashes out. Dear Ones, simply love.
Oh God, I need you now has become a battle cry in these times of stress. Thank you angels for helping to put things into perspective. Love really is the answer. Perhaps it is time to rise up out of the muck and mire and grab hold of those who are looking for the glimmer of hope.
As I finish this writing and look at my clock, I see 111 – that magic angel number that shows spiritual awakening. Blessings and gratitude dear angels and blessings dear friends as we all walk each other home.
