Skept Out

"Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier."-Mother Teresa

I try to always remember these words from Mother Teresa. I’ve heard them in my head many times but today seemed the loudest I heard them. I was speaking with a new client and I could tell the amount of pain she was in by the sound of her voice. Her struggle is very real. I heard a gentle nudge to take in every nuance, every pause, every time she expressed the deep hurt inside. I want to leave her with hope, I thought. I want her to know she was heard but more than that, I want her to know she is not alone. It is, after all, in finding the oneness that we begin the healing process and lose the illusion of separation. Later I drove through one of my favorite places in America, Mount Shasta. I needed to sit in her beautiful energy and receive. I asked God for a sign that I was being seen and that my prayers were being answered. I had an immediate urge to take a picture of the mountain out my open car window. The picture amazed me as I looked at it and saw what appeared to be two eyes gazing from the heavens above Mt. Shasta. I got it, God. Thank you.

Dear Angels, confirmation is such a big deal for us humans. We jump for joy when we receive it and it intensifies our faith. Another dear friend coined a term that I give her full credit for (thanks Nivritti Chandra), and that is “skept out.” When we need to see the evidence, our skepticism shows up and overshadows us until we have proof. I know we need our skepticism and in fact it is written about by Don Miguel Ruiz as the Fifth Agreement of the Toltecs. We are told to be skeptical because most of what we hear is not true. How does this teaching and “skepting out” mix in with faith and belief?

Dear Ones, the teachings you refer to share an important message. The truth does not need you to believe it. It just is – with or without your acknowledgement or approval. Being skeptical does not mean to distrust; it simply means ask questions. Look deeper at the information you are given. There is no need to convince another of what you believe in. Simply live by example. The truth is seen in that. If you choose to share a belief or a teaching with another, don’t get upset if they don’t agree with you until they do their due diligence in coming to terms with it. Once you pass the information along, it is no longer about you. There are no coincidences or accidents; therefore, if the information reached another person then it was meant to do so. What they chose to do with it is all their own storyline. So, to answer your question about how it all works together, you need to understand that skepticism is not the opposite of faith but rather a companion to it. Being skeptical just means you are awake and aware enough to know that not all information is the truth. it is a sorting through process that humans do and is necessary for your breakthroughs. It is all interconnected. Welcome it. Thank others who are choosing to skept out because it means that they are giving thought to it instead of just dismissing it. Being open to possibilities is the first step to expanding your spiritual growth.

Dear Angels, this makes so much sense to me. I had considered skepticism to be a negative thing but now I see that it is us humans trying to make sense of what we don’t understand. Thank you. I love you. Namaste y’all.
