RAINBOW CHASERS

Faint rainbow arcs over a wet road through evergreen forest, with a car driving away under a pale cloudy sky.

“I have walked through storms, followed roads I could not see, and trusted a God whose plan was greater than my understanding. And just when I needed reassurance, heaven painted a rainbow across my path. I have learned that rainbows do not always mean the storm is over. Sometimes they simply mean God is walking through it with me.”  Teri Angel, Angelspeakers

Just when I thought life could not possibly become any more blessed or blissful, God smiled and said, “Watch this!”

Coming to Alaska, the fiftieth and final state on the Peace On Earth Tour, has been an adventure that I did not even realize my heart needed. For six years, I have traveled roads both familiar and unknown, trusting divine guidance, embracing the unexpected, and witnessing miracles that have sometimes left me speechless. Yet, somehow, this beautiful land at the northern edge of our country has opened another chamber of my heart that I didn't even know was waiting to be filled. Today was one of those days that will remain etched in my soul forever.

My traveling companion, Jo Ann, and I embarked on an adventure that I never imagined would bring so much joy. We went dog-sledding! Now, I have experienced many extraordinary things on this peace journey, but being pulled across the Alaskan landscape by a team of enthusiastic sled dogs was certainly a new one.

We met three remarkable dogs who are currently training to run the famous Iditarod next March. One of them was actually the lead dog on the team that pulled us five miles through the breathtaking Alaskan scenery. We learned that during the Iditarod, these incredible athletes can cover approximately 100 miles in a day. Can you imagine the endurance, determination, and teamwork required for such a journey?

What surprised me most was the dogs themselves. These Alaskan Huskies were smaller than any husky I had previously encountered. They were affectionate, energetic, and absolutely delighted to be doing what they love. Their excitement was contagious! Watching them reminded me of something I have learned repeatedly on this journey: When we are living our purpose, there is a joy within us that cannot be contained. Those dogs were not questioning the miles ahead or worrying about the challenges they might encounter. They were simply eager to run. There is a lesson in that for all of us, isn't there? And that was only the beginning of our adventure.

As Jo Ann and I made our way back toward the little town where we are staying, heaven decided to put on a spectacular show. Rainbows! Not one rainbow. Not even two. Rainbows seemed to be appearing everywhere we looked! Some stretched across the sky in brilliant colors, while others appeared to come all the way down to the ground directly in front of us. One magnificent rainbow seemed to drape itself over the top of a mountain, as though God had lovingly placed a colorful crown upon His creation. I could hardly comprehend what my eyes were witnessing.

There are moments in life when words become completely inadequate. Moments when the mind simply stops trying to explain and the heart takes over. This was one of those moments. Tears filled my eyes. My heart overflowed with a joy so profound that all I could do was whisper, “Thank You, God. Thank You.” I have seen many rainbows throughout the Peace On Earth Tour. They have appeared during storms, after difficult days, and sometimes at the very moment I needed reassurance that I was exactly where I was meant to be. I have come to regard them as beautiful reminders of God's presence and His promise that we are never walking alone. But today felt different. Perhaps it was because I had finally reached the fiftieth state after six years of following a calling that often made no logical sense. Perhaps it was the realization that every detour, every challenge, every unexpected blessing, and every moment of surrender had brought me to this very place. Or perhaps it was simply that my heart was open enough to receive the magnitude of the gift before me.

In Genesis 9:13, God says, “I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.” What a beautiful reminder that the rainbow is not merely something lovely to admire. It is also a symbol of promise, hope, and the sacred relationship between Creator and creation. As I stood in awe of those rainbows, I thought about the storms I have encountered throughout my lifetime. Some were literal storms that I drove through on this journey. Others were the storms of illness, loss, uncertainty, and the countless moments when I had no idea how the next step would unfold. And yet, here I am. Still walking. Still trusting. Still believing. Still being surprised by joy.

What I am learning is that we do not have to wait until the storm passes to recognize the blessings surrounding us. Sometimes the rainbow appears while the rain is still falling. Sometimes our greatest miracles arrive in the middle of uncertainty. And sometimes God gives us a moment so extraordinarily beautiful that it reminds us why we chose to trust in the first place. I came to Alaska to complete a six-year journey of blessing the land and waters of all fifty states. What I did not expect was how profoundly this land would bless me in return. And isn't that how love works? We give from our hearts, never knowing how that love will find its way back to us. Today, it came back in the form of eager sled dogs, majestic mountains, and rainbows that seemed to reach right down from heaven. My cup is not merely full. It is overflowing.

Dear Angels, why do some moments of beauty touch us so deeply that we are moved to tears? And how can we learn to recognize God's presence even when the rainbows are hidden behind the clouds?

Dear Ones, what you experienced today was more than the beauty of colors dancing across the heavens. It was a moment of complete presence, when the noise of the world became silent and your soul recognized the sacredness of life.

You have spent many years learning to trust what you cannot see. You have traveled unfamiliar roads, faced uncertainty, and surrendered countless times to a divine plan that unfolded one step at a time. Each experience has invited you to deepen your faith and open your heart a little wider. And now, beloved, look at the beauty that surrounds you.

The rainbow does not create the Light. It reveals what happens when the Light meets the rain. So it is with your own journey. The storms of life have not diminished your Light. They have given you opportunities to discover how brightly it can shine. Do not believe that divine love is present only in the extraordinary moments. It is there in the quiet mornings, in the kindness of strangers, in the wagging tail of an excited dog, and in every breath you take. The rainbows are beautiful reminders, but the greatest miracle is the love that allows you to recognize them.

You ask how to see God's presence when the skies are gray. We say to you, begin with gratitude. Give thanks before the miracle appears. Trust before the path becomes clear. Love without waiting for love to be returned. And remember, dear ones, you do not have to chase rainbows to find heaven. Heaven is already present in the heart that knows how to love. Continue your journey with wonder. There are still beautiful experiences awaiting you, even when you think you have seen it all.

Angels Whisper: Dear One, every storm you have walked through has brought you to this moment. Do not measure your journey by the miles traveled or the mountains climbed, but by the love you have given and received along the way. When rainbows appear, rejoice in their beauty. When the clouds return, remember that the Light has never left you. God's promises are not written only across the sky. They are written upon your heart. Trust, beloved. The journey is not over. Love is still leading the way.

Today, I promise to keep chasing rainbows and stand in awe each and every time.
