Permit Yourself To Feel

“It is only when we take chances, when our lives improve. The initial and the most difficult risk that we need to take is to become honest. —Walter Anderson

It’s been a few years since I had a cat. Both of mine left in 2019 and I miss them terribly. I’m here in New Orleans babysitting two adorable furbabies, BP and Orlando. They are more independent than my two were as they are both outdoor/indoor cats. I do remember how upset mine would be when I went away and they would ignore me when I came home. Today was the first day of Sheri and Dan not being at home and I came in as the substitute caretaker. BP took it harder than his brother. He hid all day. I walked up and down the street as I had not seen him at all, not even to eat. The feeling of panic is real when you are responsible for another person’s beloved animals and cannot locate them. I called his name once more before going inside and he sauntered out from under the house like “what’s all the commotion?” Cats!!

Dear Angels, while our furbabies cannot talk to us in words that we understand, they do have a way of “talking” through their actions. When we take time to observe, listen and show compassion, we hear them. Our animals are totally dependent on us so it is important to aware of what they are trying to communicate to us.

Dear Ones, you carry your beliefs and attitudes into everything you do in life. If you respect life in any of its forms, you most likely will respect life in all forms. If you are honest in the little things of life, you will be honest in everything. People and animals see what’s in your heart. Always remember, though, that words can hurt someone just as quickly as physical altercation and perhaps even more. So love, Dear Ones, and give yourself permission to feel.

Dear Angels, thank you. I love you. Namaste y’all.

Today, I promise to show respect to all forms of life.
