HOLD MY HAND

“I am a strong person, but every now and then I also need someone to take my hand and tell me that everything will be alright.” —Anonymous
There is a misconception in our world that strength means never crying, never asking for help, and never allowing others to see our vulnerable moments. We are encouraged to "keep it together," to push through pain, and to wear a brave face even when our hearts are quietly breaking. But true strength has never been about pretending we have no wounds.
Sometimes, the strongest people are the ones carrying the heaviest burdens while continuing to smile. They are the caregivers who comfort everyone else while silently longing for someone to comfort them. They are the leaders who inspire others while privately wondering if they have the strength to take one more step. They are the peacemakers who pour love into the world while needing someone to simply wrap them in understanding. Every soul reaches moments when all it needs is a compassionate presence—a hand held without judgment, a reassuring embrace, or gentle words that whisper, "You're going to be okay."
Over the past few weeks, I have spent much time working with the energy of Jesus and becoming increasingly curious about His earthly life. As I have reflected on His journey, I have come to appreciate more deeply just how completely He embraced the human experience. Jesus did not come to Earth merely to observe humanity. He came to live among us. He knew joy at weddings and family gatherings. He celebrated friendships and treasured quiet moments of prayer. He experienced exhaustion after long days of teaching. He felt compassion so deeply that He wept with those who mourned. He knew disappointment when people misunderstood His message and betrayal when one of His closest companions turned against Him.
Scripture tells us simply, "Jesus wept." (John 11:35) Those two words reveal something extraordinary. The Son of God did not hide His emotions. He did not suppress His grief to appear invincible. He allowed Himself to feel. He experienced loneliness in the Garden of Gethsemane as His closest friends struggled to remain awake while He prayed. He understood fear as He faced the cross. He knew physical pain, emotional suffering, rejection, and loss. Because He experienced every aspect of being human, He understands every emotion we experience today.
When we cry, He understands our tears.
When we feel abandoned, He remembers the loneliness of Gethsemane.
When we feel misunderstood, He remembers the crowds who doubted Him.
When our hearts ache from loss, He remembers standing before Lazarus' tomb.
There is profound comfort in knowing that heaven does not look upon our struggles with indifference. Divine love understands them from the inside. Perhaps vulnerability is not weakness after all. Perhaps it is one of the greatest expressions of courage. When we allow ourselves to be authentic instead of pretending everything is fine, we give others permission to do the same. We create sacred spaces where healing can begin because masks are no longer necessary. One of the greatest gifts we can offer another person is not advice or solutions, but our presence. Sometimes healing begins simply because someone sits beside us without trying to fix us. Likewise, there are seasons when we are called to receive rather than always give. That may be one of life's most difficult lessons for those who are accustomed to being the strong one.
Allow someone to pray with you.
Allow someone to encourage you.
Allow someone to hold your hand when your own strength feels weary.
Even Jesus accepted help carrying His cross.
If the Master Teacher allowed others to help Him, perhaps we can give ourselves permission to receive help as well.
Dear Angels, how do we know when it is time to stop trying to appear strong and simply allow ourselves to be supported?
Dear Ones, strength and vulnerability are not opposites. They are companions walking the same sacred path. Your world has taught you to admire independence, yet Heaven celebrates connection. You were never created to carry every burden alone. Even the stars shine together in constellations, each supporting the beauty of the whole. There comes a moment when your soul grows tired of pretending. It longs to exhale. It longs to rest. It longs to be seen exactly as it is—not polished, not perfected, simply loved. Do not fear those moments. They are holy.
When you allow another heart to comfort yours, you are giving someone else the opportunity to express the love that God has placed within them. Receiving is every bit as sacred as giving. Remember that your Savior did not avoid human emotion. He embraced it with grace. He laughed. He loved. He grieved. He forgave. He wept. If tears were holy enough for Jesus, they are holy enough for you. Never mistake vulnerability for weakness. A heart willing to remain open after it has been wounded is among the strongest creations in all of Heaven. When you feel overwhelmed, imagine our hands gently holding yours. Feel our wings surrounding you with peace. Hear us whisper to your heart, "You do not walk this journey alone. We have always been beside you, and we always will."
Angels Whisper: Beloved, you do not have to earn love by being strong all the time. You are loved in your laughter and in your tears, in your confidence and in your uncertainty. When life feels heavy, reach for a hand instead of carrying the weight alone. Sometimes the greatest miracle is not finding the strength to keep going by yourself—it is discovering that love has been reaching for your hand all along.
Today, I promise to reach out my hand when I need to.
