MAPLESS

"You don't always need a plan. Sometimes you just need to breathe, trust, let go and see what happens." - Mandy Hale
There is a lot to be said for spontaneity. For most of my life, I lived as the true Virgo that I am. I wanted to know where the puzzle pieces belonged before I put them on the table. I wanted things to make sense. I wanted to see the road ahead, understand the destination and preferably have a map showing me exactly how I was going to get there.
Maybe that is why I excelled in math. Math made sense to me. There was an answer waiting at the end of the equation. Follow the steps, work the problem and eventually everything falls neatly into place. If a teacher or class didn’t challenge me, I would daydream and shut out the “noise.” Once I broke free from habits that kept me stuck, I started enjoying life. Life, however, doesn't always work that way. Sometimes there is no equation. Sometimes there is no map. And sometimes the most beautiful experiences happen when we stop trying to figure everything out and simply go.
Once I began breaking free from the habits that kept me stuck, something inside me came alive. I discovered that I actually enjoyed not knowing what was around the next bend. I started getting lost on purpose just to see where the road would take me. I remember one day calling a friend and telling her I was on my way to pick her up. "We're going to the Keys," I announced. She laughed because she thought I was joking. I wasn't. Neither of us had planned it. I had never been there, and it was about a five-hour drive. There was no carefully prepared itinerary and no list of things we needed to accomplish. We just went. It was spontaneous. It was crazy. It was freeing. And it was so much fun. We found Margaritaville. We listened to reggae music on the beach. We danced for hours. We laughed and allowed ourselves to simply be present in the experience.
I think about that adventure often because I believe it was the moment when my gypsy soul was birthed. Somewhere between the familiar road and the unknown destination, I discovered another part of myself—the part that didn't need to know what came next. Perhaps that was preparation for the life I live now.
The Peace On Earth Tour certainly did not come with a detailed road map. There was no binder from the angels explaining where I would go, who I would meet or how everything would happen. There was simply an invitation to trust. And somehow, one road led to another. One person led to another. One open door led to another. The puzzle pieces appeared when they were needed. Even now, when I find myself plotting out a route and trying to determine every detail, I sometimes hear that familiar little voice inside me whisper: "Just go." And that is usually when I hear the angels giggle. I think they giggle because they know that, in that moment, I remember. I remember that I don't have to control everything. I remember that not knowing does not mean I am lost. I remember that sometimes faith looks like taking the next step before we know where our foot will land.
And I remember the words the angels have repeated to me so many times: "All we ask is that you trust."
Maybe there is something in your life right now that you are trying desperately to figure out. Maybe you are examining every possible outcome, trying to fit all the puzzle pieces together before you move forward. What if you don't need all the answers? What if the next step is simply to breathe … Trust … Let go? And see what happens.
There are times when planning is necessary, of course. But there are also sacred moments when Spirit invites us beyond the boundaries of what we can see and asks us to walk by faith instead of sight. That is where the adventure begins.
Dear Angels, how do we know when it is time to stop planning and simply trust?
Dear Ones, you will know because your heart will begin calling you beyond the boundaries your mind has created. The mind seeks certainty because it believes certainty brings safety. Your soul understands something greater: you are never walking alone.
There will be moments when preparation serves you, and there will be moments when preparation becomes another name for fear. When you find yourself waiting for every question to be answered before taking one step forward, become still.
Breathe.
Listen.
You do not need to see the entire road. You need only enough light for the step that is before you.
Trust does not mean that you know what will happen. Trust means you know that whatever happens, you will be guided through it.
Release your grip on how you believe life must unfold. Divine guidance often arrives through unexpected roads, spontaneous conversations, changed plans and doors you never knew existed.
Your life was never meant to be a perfectly assembled puzzle that you complete before living it.
You are here to experience it.
Dance on the beach.
Take the unfamiliar road.
Laugh when the plans change.
Listen when your soul whispers, "Just go."
We are there in the going. We are there in the uncertainty. We are there around every bend. All we ask, Dear Ones, is that you trust.
Angels Whisper: Sometimes the road you didn't plan becomes the journey your soul has been waiting for. Breathe deeply, loosen your grip on the map and listen for the whisper within. You do not have to know where every road leads. Sometimes you simply have to trust enough to take the first step. Just breathe. Just trust. Just go.
Today, I promise to just go.
