GET UP AND WALK

“Today’s excuses are tomorrow’s regrets dressed in disguise.” Steven Furtick
Another day, another miracle! Once the dam of divine flow bursts open, the blessings just keep pouring through. Today began simply enough — a routine oil change for the Angelmobile — but turned into yet another reminder that God’s hand is in every detail. When I arrived at the dealership, I was told something I hadn’t known before: my oil changes are free for another year! Some might brush that off as a coincidence or small favor, but to me, it was a wink from Heaven — a tender reminder that abundance doesn’t always show up as gold coins, but as grace meeting us where we are. Later in the day, my dear friend Jo Ann and I traveled to Miami to attend a concert by one of my favorite worship groups, Elevation Worship. The arena pulsed with praise — 12,000 voices singing as one, hearts lifted in joy and surrender. For four hours, Heaven and Earth seemed to merge in sound and light. Among the many beautiful moments was a message from Pastor Steven Furtick himself — a story of healing, faith, and action. He spoke of the man at the Pool of Bethesda — the one who had lain paralyzed for thirty-eight long years, waiting for someone to help him into the waters when they stirred. Jesus stopped, saw, and spoke to this forgotten soul. “Do you want to get well?” He asked. The man answered with his excuse: “I have no one to help me.” But Jesus didn’t wait for helpers or explanations. He simply said, “Get up. Pick up your mat and walk.” That moment pierced my heart. How often do we, too, lie beside the waters of possibility, giving voice to excuses instead of action? How many times do we cling to the “mat” of limitation — stories that keep us bound to what was rather than what can be? Jesus did three things that day: He stopped. He saw. He spoke.
So I ask myself, and you, dear one:
Do I stop when someone around me is hurting?
Do I truly see them with compassion rather than judgment?
Do I speak life into their pain, even if I don’t have the perfect words?
And perhaps the most important question of all — do I do these things for myself?
Dear Angels, how can I move past my excuses and rise into divine action?
Dear Ones, your excuses are born of fear, not failure. They whisper of unworthiness, of time lost, of strength forgotten. Yet within you burns the same power that commanded the man to rise. The Divine never asks for perfection — only for willingness. When you choose to get up, even trembling, Heaven rushes to steady your steps. Every “yes” you utter in faith breaks the chain of excuses that has held you bound. Let go of regret. The past does not define you — your response in this moment does. When you stop, see, and speak from love, you become the healing you once waited for.
Angels Whisper: Beloved, your mat is not your destiny. Get up, lift your eyes, and walk in grace. The waters of healing are within you now. The moment you choose faith over fear, your excuses lose their voice. Get up, beloved—you were born to walk in light.
Today, I promise to pick up my mat and walk.
