BREAKING THE SHELL

“Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.”  Kahlil Gibran

There are many people in pain right now. Some are suffering physically, while others are carrying emotional wounds, mental exhaustion, or spiritual uncertainty. Everywhere I turn, I encounter people who are feeling overwhelmed, confused, and sometimes downright weary of the world around them.

The planets are lining up in ways that many believe are stirring the energetic pot, chaos seems to be ruling the day here on Earth, and even the simplest chores can feel like climbing a mountain. It is as though humanity is collectively holding its breath, waiting for something to shift. And perhaps that is exactly what is happening. Perhaps we are in the midst of a great shifting.

I have come to understand that pain has a purpose. That doesn't mean we have to welcome it with open arms or pretend it doesn't hurt. It simply means that sometimes pain is the messenger that gets our attention when nothing else will.

Kahlil Gibran's words speak deeply to my soul. Imagine a tiny chick inside its shell. For a time, that shell is its protection, its entire world. Yet there comes a moment when the very thing that kept it safe becomes the thing that confines it. In order to experience life beyond its limited understanding, the shell must break. Isn't that what happens to us?

We build shells around ourselves made of beliefs, expectations, fears, and experiences. We become comfortable inside those shells, even when they are no longer serving our highest good. Then something happens. A relationship changes. A loved one transitions. Our health presents a challenge. A dream seems to crumble. Suddenly, cracks begin to appear in the world we thought we understood. And oh, how we resist those cracks! We cry out to God, asking why this is happening. We beg for the pain to stop, for things to return to the way they were. Yet perhaps Spirit is gently whispering, "Dear child, you have outgrown this shell."

I have experienced enough challenges in my lifetime to know that pain is not always an enemy. Some of my greatest awakenings have come during my most difficult moments. There have been times when I could not see beyond the struggle, when the path ahead was hidden and all I could do was trust that God was still walking beside me. Looking back, I can see that those experiences opened doors to understanding that I might never have discovered otherwise.

One of the greatest lessons I have learned on the Peace On Earth Tour is that we cannot always control the storms around us, but we can choose how we move through them. Sometimes we find shelter. Sometimes we stand still and pray. Sometimes we simply take the next step in faith. And sometimes, right in the middle of the storm, a rainbow appears. I believe humanity is being invited into a deeper understanding of compassion right now. We are being asked to look beyond appearances, beyond disagreements, beyond the noise of the world, and recognize the divine light within each other.

When someone is angry, perhaps they are hurting. When someone withdraws, perhaps their soul is exhausted. When someone lashes out, perhaps their shell is cracking and they do not yet understand what is happening. What if, instead of reacting, we responded with love? What if we stopped asking, "What is wrong with this person?" and started asking, "What pain might this person be carrying?" And what if we extended that same compassion to ourselves?

Pain does not always carry a hidden spiritual lesson. Sometimes it is a signal that our body needs medical attention, our mind needs rest, or our heart needs support. We do not have to endure suffering silently or prove our spiritual strength by refusing help. Seeking healing and allowing others to walk beside us can be sacred acts of self-love. There is a beautiful reminder in Ecclesiastes 3:1: "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven."

Perhaps this is a season of breaking open. Not breaking down, but breaking through. The shell may be cracking, but the light is finding its way in. And just maybe, the understanding waiting on the other side is greater than anything we could have imagined.

Dear Angels, so many people are experiencing pain and uncertainty right now. How can we move through these challenging times without becoming overwhelmed by the suffering around us? How do we recognize the lessons within our pain while still honoring what we are feeling?

Dear Ones, we come close to you in this moment and wrap you in the tenderness of divine love. We see the burdens you carry, the tears you have shed, and the questions that linger in your hearts. First, dear ones, release the belief that your pain is punishment. You are not being tested to determine your worthiness of God's love. You are already worthy. You have always been worthy. There are times in your earthly journey when the structures you have built around your understanding begin to change. What once felt certain may no longer bring comfort. What once seemed important may lose its meaning. This can feel unsettling, yet it can also create space for new awareness.

Do not be afraid of the cracks, beloveds. They do not mean you have failed. When you feel overwhelmed by the energy of the world, return to the sanctuary within. Place your hand upon your heart. Breathe slowly. Remember that you do not have to carry the pain of all humanity in order to be a vessel of compassion. You are not required to fix every broken thing you encounter. Sometimes your greatest gift is simply being present with another soul, listening without judgment, loving without conditions, and offering kindness without expectation. Allow yourselves to rest. Allow yourselves to receive. Allow yourselves to say, "Today, I need a little extra love." We remind you that growth does not have to come through suffering. Joy is also a teacher. Peace is also a teacher. Love is the greatest teacher of all.

When pain does visit, do not let it convince you that the darkness is permanent. Reach for the hands extended toward you, both earthly and divine. There is strength in allowing yourselves to be supported. Remember, Dear Ones, the seed does not see the beautiful flower it will become while resting beneath the soil. Yet life is quietly unfolding. Trust the unfolding. You are loved beyond measure, and you never walk alone.

Angels Whisper: When the shell of your understanding begins to crack, do not mistake the breaking for your ending. Sometimes it is the beginning of a beautiful awakening. Be gentle with yourselves and with one another. You never know what another soul is carrying or what new light is trying to emerge. Let compassion be your response, love be your refuge, and peace be the gift you offer the world. The shell may break, but the spirit within is ready to soar.

Today, I promise to look for the deeper meaning of the pain.
