THE SACREDNESS OF NOW

“Everyone in your life will have a last day with you, and you don't even know when it will be.”  Unknown

I often think of the people in my life and what they mean to me. One day, without warning, we will share our last moment with someone we love. The last hug, the last laugh, the last whispered "I love you." And the truth is, we rarely see it coming. We move through life assuming there will be another phone call, another visit, another chance to make things right. But life is fleeting, and goodbyes are often unspoken until it is too late. That has been the case with many of my loved ones. That unexpected phone call, the shock of hearing that they are no longer in their human body. There are still moments when I want to call my dear friend Sharon for some spiritual advice and hear her beautiful voice tell me to keep going “higher yet.” It has been two years and two days since my friend Tina left unexpectedly. She always made me laugh. I can remember the last time I was with her in a beautiful park that she took Auntie Jean and I to four months before she passed. I am so glad I got to hug her that day and tell her I love her.

Dear Angels, how differently would we live if we knew? If we could see the moment ahead when someone we cherish would no longer walk this earth with us? Would we hold them closer? Would we forgive faster? Would we savor every second instead of rushing through life distracted and preoccupied?

Dear Ones, the lesson is clear: love fully, today. Speak the words that are on your heart. Hug a little longer. Be present. Make time for the people who matter most, because none of you know when your shared path will diverge. Being present is one of the greatest gifts you can offer. It is a sacred act of love to put down the phone, look into someone’s eyes, and truly listen. To savor the laughter of a friend without thinking of the next task. To pause and feel the warmth of a loved one’s embrace instead of letting the moment slip away unnoticed. Presence turns ordinary moments into treasures, ones that will live in your heart long after a person is gone. When you live in awareness, you begin to notice the little things—the way someone smiles when they see you, the sound of their voice, the small gestures of kindness that often go unspoken. These are the moments that make up a life, the ones you often overlook in your hurry. But when you slow down, when you breathe in the gift of now, you find the sacred hidden in the ordinary. Regrets are heavy burdens, but love expressed leaves no weight upon the soul. Choose love, every single day. Let those in your life know their worth. Cherish them as if this moment were the last—because one day, it will be.

Angels Whisper: time is but a fleeting shadow in the eternal light of love. Do not wait for tomorrow to say what is in your heart. Speak love. Live kindness. Embrace those around you with the wings of your soul. For in love, there is no ending—only a journey home to the Divine.

Today, I promise to be fully present with those in my life.
