USE YOUR WINGS

“Be not afraid of growing slowly; be afraid only of standing still.” - Chinese Proverb
There is something very comforting about our comfort zones. They are familiar, predictable, and safe. We know what to expect, and we can settle into our routines without having to stretch ourselves too far. Sometimes it is much easier to remain right where we are than to take that first uncertain step into something new. But here's the thing about comfort zones. While they may feel safe, they can also become the very places where our dreams go to sleep.
There is a time for sitting in stillness. In fact, I believe stillness is essential to our spiritual growth. It is in those quiet moments that we hear the whispers of our soul, connect with our Creator, and receive guidance from the angels. However, stillness is not the same as stagnation. We are meant to pause, listen, receive, and then move forward with what we have been given.
Years ago, the angels gave me a message that was both simple and profound. They told me it was time to get off the couch! I remember thinking about how easy it was to sit back and wait for someone else to step up and make a difference in the world. Surely there were people more qualified, more knowledgeable, or better equipped to bring about change. The angels were having none of that! Their message was clear. If everyone sits on the sidelines waiting for someone else to do something, who is going to make the first move? Who will be the voice of compassion? Who will extend the hand of peace? Who will stand up when something needs to change? I realized that I could spend my entire life waiting for the perfect moment, the perfect circumstances, or the perfect person to lead the way. Or I could simply take one step forward in faith. That one step changed everything. I certainly did not have all the answers. I did not know where the road would lead or how everything would unfold. There were moments of uncertainty, times when the path seemed unclear, and plenty of opportunities to turn around and retreat to what was familiar. Yet, with each mile I traveled, each person encountered, and each blessing offered upon the land and water, something beautiful happened. I grew. Sometimes that growth was so subtle I barely noticed it. Other times it stretched me far beyond anything I had imagined possible. I look back now on my life and realize that none of the miracles would have happened if I had remained on that couch waiting for someone else to answer the call.
The beautiful thing about growth is that it does not have to happen in giant leaps. It reaches toward the light a little at a time, trusting the process of becoming. Perhaps your next step is forgiving someone, reaching out to a stranger, speaking a word of encouragement, or finally pursuing a dream that has been quietly tugging at your heart. Perhaps it is simply choosing love instead of fear in a situation that challenges you. Every step matters.
I often think about the words of Jesus when He told His followers, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works.” (Matthew 5:16). Notice that He did not say to wait until your light was brighter or until you felt worthy enough to shine. He simply invited us to let it shine. We cannot illuminate the world by hiding our light under the comfortable blankets of fear and complacency.
We are living in a time when compassion, kindness, and peace are needed more than ever. It is tempting to look at the challenges around us and feel that our individual efforts are too small to matter. But imagine what would happen if every person took just one intentional step toward making this world a more loving place. One smile. One prayer. One act of kindness. One courageous conversation. One decision to stop waiting and start doing. That is how change begins.
So, dear friends, if you have been waiting for a sign to move forward, perhaps this is it. You do not need to know the entire journey. You only need to trust the next step. And if that step feels a little frightening, remember what the angels have reminded me so many times: “All we ask is that you trust.” Get off the couch. There is a beautiful world waiting for the light that only you can bring.
Dear Angels, How do we know when it is time to move from stillness into action, especially when fear or uncertainty makes us want to remain in our comfort zone?
Dear Ones, stillness is a sacred gift, but it was never meant to become your hiding place. We invite you into the silence so that you may remember who you are, not so that you may forget the purpose for which you came. You do not have to be fearless to be courageous. Courage is simply allowing love to lead you forward even when your human mind whispers reasons to remain where you are. Do not measure your progress by the distance traveled or compare your journey to that of another. A single step taken in faith carries more power than a thousand intentions left unfulfilled. We are not asking you to change the entire world today. We are inviting you to change the energy you bring into it.
Listen to the gentle nudges of your heart. Pay attention to the opportunities placed before you. When you feel that familiar stirring within your soul, know that it is often Spirit inviting you to grow. And remember, we are beside you, celebrating every step, no matter how small. Be patient with your becoming, but do not be afraid to begin. You are the answer to someone's prayer. You are the light someone is waiting to see. You are the change you have been asking for. Now, beloved, rise and shine!
Angels Whisper: The smallest step taken with love can create ripples of peace far beyond what your eyes can see. Rest when you need to, listen when you are guided, but never allow fear to convince you that standing still is your destiny. Your wings were not given to you merely to admire. They were given so that you might learn to fly. Trust the journey, take the step, and watch how heaven moves with you.
Today, I promise to fly.
