SACRED STILLNESS

Alone
“Lying, thinking
Last night
How to find my soul a home
Where water is not thirsty
And bread loaf is not stone
I came up with one thing
And I don’t believe I’m wrong
That nobody,
But nobody
Can make it out here alone. ” Maya Angelou
When did we reach the point in society where solitude was viewed as undesirable? Solitude isn't just about being alone; it's about how one chooses to be with oneself. Whether you're seeking, healing, creating, or serving, solitude can be a profound spiritual journey, teaching us the art of being whole, within ourselves and in the vastness of existence. I never dreamed that I could find so much peace in solitude but that is exactly what has happened. While I love and enjoy being around people, it is in the quiet moments where all distraction is gone that I can sit in a state of deeper connection with my higher self. I embrace the alone time and consider it sacred. The more I explore it, it guides me to deeper understandings of life's many layers. If being alone for any period of time is uncomfortable for you, I encourage you to try it in small doses. Some of the most profound experiences I have had were when I unplugged for a whole day, turning off all electronics and spending time alone without interruption or interaction with others. I remember the first time I did this. I didn’t think I would make it through the first hour! I kept wanting to look at my watch, check my messages, and wander outside. Detoxing from the addiction to distraction is not for the faint of heart. I must admit though, that this ranks right up there with the most profound experiences of my life. When there is nobody and nothing between you and God, the channel becomes very clear and the insight gained is tremendous. When we unplug—from our phones, from the news, from the demands of the world—we open the door to something far greater: divine presence. In solitude, we are never truly alone; we are held in the loving embrace of Spirit, who longs for us to pause and just be.
Dear Angels, in a world that never stops moving, where notifications chime like an endless chorus and screens pull us into a digital haze, we often forget the most sacred connection of all—the one with our own soul. Solitude is not loneliness; it is an invitation to return home to ourselves, to listen to the whispers of the Divine, and to recharge our spirit in the embrace of stillness.
Dear Ones, think of solitude as a spiritual retreat, an opportunity to cleanse the clutter from your energy field. The constant influx of information can cloud your intuition, creating stress and fatigue. But when you step away—when you allow yourselves moments of sacred stillness—your soul breathes again. In this space, you remember that you are not defined by your to-do lists, your social media presence, or the expectations placed upon you. You are divine beings, light-filled and whole, simply needing time to reconnect with that truth. We speak to you in the silence, our messages soft and subtle like a whisper, and often lost beneath the noise of daily life.
Angels Whisper: solitude is a gift, an open doorway to your highest self. It is here, in the quiet, that you truly hear the voice of your soul and the guidance of us, your angels. It is in these moments that you remember that you are loved, guided, and never truly alone. So today, take a deep breath. Step away from the noise. Unplug from the world and plug into your soul. In the sacred embrace of solitude, you will find not emptiness, but fullness—the presence of Spirit, always waiting to meet you in the stillness.
Today, I promise to sit in the sacred stillness every day to enjoy a closer connection to my soul.
