MIND YOUR MINDSET

“Always Do Your Best. Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.”- Don Miguel Ruiz

There are days in our lives when we simply do not feel our best. Aches and pains are part of the earthly journey. Bodies get tired. Emotions fluctuate. Circumstances change. On those days it can feel easier to crawl under the covers, host a pity party of one, and wait for the storm to pass. I know this feeling well. I have experienced moments when “stinkin’ thinkin’” tried to take over my mind and convince me that everything was harder than it should be. In those moments it can feel as though we have lost our power. But over the years I have learned something important: our mindset is one thing we always have influence over.

Positive thinking is not about pretending everything is perfect. It is about choosing how we respond to what is happening. Some days our “best” may look like conquering the world. Other days our “best” may simply mean getting out of bed, breathing deeply, and showing kindness to ourselves. Both count.

The angels often remind me that life is not a competition with others or even with our past selves. It is a moment-by-moment experience. What matters most is that we show up in each moment with sincerity and willingness. When we do our best with the energy we have in the present moment, we release ourselves from the heavy burden of self-judgment. We stop comparing today’s effort with yesterday’s strength. Instead, we meet ourselves where we are. And from that place of compassion, growth becomes natural.

Every minute we are making choices—what to think, how to react, where to place our attention. Those small choices ripple outward and shape the experience of our lives. Doing our best is not about perfection. It is about presence. It is about choosing love over criticism. It is about remembering that we are human beings on a sacred journey, learning as we go.

Dear Angels, how can we truly accept that our “best” changes from moment to moment without feeling like we are falling short?

Dear Ones, you measure yourselves against an imaginary standard that does not exist in the divine realms. The soul was never designed to perform perfectly according to human expectations. The soul is here to experience, to learn, and to expand through the ever-changing moments of life. Your “best” is fluid because life itself is fluid. When your body is tired, your best may be rest. When your heart is heavy, your best may be a single breath of hope. When your spirit is strong, your best may be to lift others into the light.

Each of these expressions is sacred. Release the need to judge your progress. A flower does not criticize itself for blooming slowly, nor does the ocean apologize for having calm days and stormy ones. All of creation moves through cycles, and so do you. Honor the moment you are in. If you meet each moment with sincerity, compassion, and willingness, then you are already doing your best. In that space there is no failure—only growth. Trust that the divine sees your effort, your courage, and your heart. And we celebrate you every step of the way.

Angels Whisper:  Your best today is enough. Breathe, be present, and allow compassion for yourself to guide the next step forward.

Today, I promise to simply do my best.
