“We accept the love we think we deserve.” ― Stephen Chbosky
I have felt unlovable in my life. I didn’t understand what love was or how to find it, not realizing that it was inside of me. You see love, like happiness, is an inside job. We observe the world when we come here and sometimes our understanding of things like love and worthiness is a little skewed by what we experience. I love playing the “wouldn’t it be great if” game. One of the ones I do is “wouldn’t it be great if we all accepted each other just as we are?” if this were the case, we would have a better understanding of love from the very beginning of our lifetime. As it is though, we have a lot of undoing to come to the truth about love. Some people never get there, but those who do reach an epic understanding that love is kind, love is unselfish, love wishes for the best for everyone and most of all love endures. In my studies with Neville Goddard, I was reminded that we have a great teaching from the time of Christ that says “You could have all the wisdom of the world, all the power of the world, but if love is not present, your worldly power and wisdom is as nothing. There is no gift of the spirit comparable to love, and in the end love is the only thing that is alive. Faith will be fulfilled; hope will be realized. These are attributes of God, but love is not an attribute of God, God is love.” If we could just get this one lesson, everything else would fall into place.
Dear Angels, it is my understanding that love has no expiration date. Unlike our human concept of love, I believe that God does not fall out of love with us. We are told that love endures no matter what. How can we have a better understanding of this kind of love?
Dear Ones, there are many types of love yet all are spoken of as “love” and therein lies the confusion when the word is used. The kind of love that is enduring is what is known as agape love. It is unconditional, altruistic and selfless. This is the love known as spiritual love. You don’t have to do anything to earn it as it is your birthright. You are love. It is easy to forget this as you go through your life experiences. Agape love cannot be destroyed or changed, Dear Ones, as it is not an attribute as the teacher reminds you. Love is who you are. Love is who God is. This is the only reality, that love is. Fall in love with yourself and you will have that peace that passes all understanding. You will realize that nothing can take that love from you, unlike what you may have experienced with other worldly types of love. Let your faith guide you in this lesson. Hold steadfast in your belief that the promises made of the endurance of love is a reality. Let this truth set you free.
Dear Angels, thank you. I love you. Namaste y’all.
Today, I promise to remember that I am loved no matter what. I claim this agape love and know that there are no conditions to receiving it and nothing that can cause it to be taken from me because I am love.
