HOW LOVE DEFINES HOME

"Where we love is home - home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts." — Oliver Wendell Holmes
There are places in our lives that shape us so deeply, they never truly release us. Our feet may walk away, our lives may carry us across miles and decades, but the essence of those places stays stitched into our hearts. One of the first places I ever called home as an adult was Lexington, Kentucky. I was a student at the University of Kentucky in the seventies, and everything about that season of life felt expansive and hopeful. The rolling horse farms seemed to stretch endlessly toward the horizon, mirroring the dreams of the students who filled the massive campus. Everyone was going somewhere. Everyone was becoming something. I lived off campus, in the entire upstairs of an old house, for the grand sum of $75 a month. Life felt uncomplicated. I went to all the home UK basketball games and watched young men play who would later become some of the most respected coaches in the nation. None of us knew that at the time—we were simply present, cheering, belonging.
The world felt different then. Simpler. We were not bombarded with constant fear, violence, or division. There were no mass shootings filling the news cycle, no endless protests or riots streaming into our living rooms. Our focus was on learning, growing, and preparing ourselves to step into adulthood with purpose. Looking back, I find myself wondering if peace was easier to touch because we were not so overwhelmed by noise. We lived closer to the moment. Closer to each other. Closer to what mattered. It brings me to a question I felt guided to ask the angels.
Dear Angels, is simplicity the key to peace, and is that why certain places feel like home to our souls?
Dear Ones, peace is not something you lost—it is something you remember. Simplicity does not mean lack. It means clarity. When life is uncluttered by fear, excess, and constant urgency, the heart has room to breathe. In those moments, love flows naturally, and where love flows, peace resides. The places you call home are not defined by geography but by resonance. Your soul recognizes where it once felt safe enough to expand, dream, and belong. That feeling is portable. You carry it within you, no matter where your path leads. We often remind you, “Keep it simple, sweetie,” because the soul thrives when it is not overburdened. Return often to what is essential—love, presence, connection—and you will find yourself home again and again.
Angels Whisper: Home is not behind you or ahead of you—it lives in the quiet places where your heart feels free. Simplify your world, and peace will remember your name.
Today, I promise to keep it simple.
