“Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all.”
― Emily Dickinson
Hope. Such a simple little word, isn’t it? Many years ago I supervised a suicide and crisis hotline where I dealt with people all day long who had lost hope. It’s that feeling of being hopeless, helpless and alone that creates an energy of despair. I knew that I had a huge responsibility to not judge but to just offer a glimmer of hope to the voice on the phone. I knew that if I was not authentic in my purpose for being there that I would do more harm than good. When a person is seeking a light in the darkness, they only want to know that that light is there for them and that they can trust it. We all came here to shine our light, to give hope to others who may be caught up in the darkness of their situation. Many have never experienced unconditional love and acceptance before. Whatever you do in the world, be real with yourself and with others. We live in a time where the veil is so thin that no one can hide anymore. We all see each other as if a bright spotlight has illuminated us all. I personally love that because now we can drop any façade we may have been using and just be honest and real with each other.
Dear Angels, this experience called life is sometimes very difficult to navigate. We all have times when we sink down into the lower vibrations and experience the dark night of the soul. It is very easy to lose our way in those times, to give up hope that there is good in the world and that we can find it. Please help us with some understanding.
Dear Ones, imagine you are sitting in a quiet meditative state where all around you is vibrant with peace. The light you see is reminding you that you are magnificent. How hard was it for you to be immersed in the vision? You wanted to see positive in the world and so you did. If you were asked to envision a difficult darkness surrounding you, then it would have been just as easy to go there. The more you direct your focus on judgment and criticism then indeed that is what you will see. You do have freedom to choose which experience to have. Going into a state of hope is just as easy as directing your gaze. Know that the more you speak up for yourself and all who you come into contact with, the more likely you are to stay the course with hope in your heart.
Dear Angels, thank you. I love you. Namaste y’all.
Today, I promise to never lose hope but to instead keep my light burning brightly as I hold space for anyone who my be going through a dark tunnel.
