EMBRACING PEACE AMIDST THE PAIN

A single lit candle in darkness, flame glowing warm yellow and orange, casting a soft ambient light creating a serene, calm mood.

“We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.”  Martin Luther King, Jr.

When I was just a child, the world shifted in a way I could not fully understand. The day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963, I sat in my small-town home, where safety was something I had always taken for granted. Violence felt far away, something that happened in big cities, not in the little world I knew. Yet that day, my sense of security cracked open. I remember feeling frightened, confused, and deeply saddened. Over time, those feelings of fear transformed into a yearning—a desire to create a world where peace was not only a dream but a way of life. That little girl, shaken by the reality of violence, began to wish for a kinder, more compassionate world where such tragedies would no longer exist. That wish became a passion, and eventually, a mission. For the last five years, peace has not just been my focus but the very heartbeat of my life’s work. Yet today, as I prepared to celebrate a milestone of that mission, I was met again with the news of another senseless act of violence. A young man whose life was built on faith and love, whose words always pointed toward Jesus, was taken too soon. I did not know him personally, yet his light had reached me. His voice, his example, his consistency in sharing love—these touched my soul. And so I wept. In that moment of grief, I sat in meditation and prayer, releasing the anger and sadness that threatened to swallow me whole. My faith in God has never wavered, and it never will. My disappointment is not in God—it is in humanity’s struggle to learn. Have we not, in over six decades, understood that violence is not a solution? Have we not learned that love is the only path forward?

Dear Angels, how do we hold onto hope when the world seems so full of violence, loss, and disappointment?

Dear Ones, hope is not fragile—it is eternal. What you witness in the world is the surface of human struggle, but beneath it flows a river of Divine love that cannot be stopped. Each act of violence may shake hearts, but it can never destroy the truth that Light always overcomes darkness. When grief comes, let it flow through you, but do not let it harden you. Instead, let it carve out more room for compassion. Every tear you shed waters the seeds of peace that you and others are planting. Hold fast to hope, for it is the bridge between what is and what will be. Infinite hope is God’s gift to humanity—it will never run dry.

Angels Whisper: Disappointment is fleeting, but love is eternal. Do not let the shadows of the world convince you that the Light has gone out. It has not. Within you, within all who choose peace, infinite hope burns like a steady flame. Trust it, nurture it, and let it guide you always.

Today, I promise to hold onto my faith in God in the midst of what is happening in the world

I dedicate this message to an amazing brother in Christ who was taken from the world today through violence – Charlie Kirk, may you rest in peace in the arms of Jesus.
