BE GRATITUDE

“Real gratitude cannot be forced. It is the fragrance of possession. You do not give thanks for a meal while still hungry and staring at an empty plate. You give thanks when the meal is already yours. When you can smell it, taste it, feel the satisfaction of it. Thanksgiving is not a technique. It is a state.” Neville Goddard
I have been a student of Neville Goddard for some time now. I honestly do not remember how or exactly when I discovered his teachings. I only know that they appeared in my life at the right time, and they have changed my life for the better. There is an old saying, “When the student is ready, the master will appear.” I have seen the truth of those words over and over again throughout my journey. Teachers have appeared. Books have fallen into my hands. People have crossed my path. Messages have arrived at exactly the moment I needed to hear them. Sometimes I did not even know I was searching for an answer until the answer showed up. That is Divine timing.
As my birthday month comes to an end, I find myself reflecting on everything that has unfolded. I manifested so many beautiful experiences that I once could never have imagined. My life today looks very different from the life I once thought I would live. And I am grateful. In a couple of months, I will board an airplane and travel to the 50th state on the Peace On Earth Tour. Going to Canada completed four foreign countries where I have been blessed to meet people and speak about peace. When this journey began, I could not have imagined where Spirit would take me. Yet here I am. One step. One prayer. One miracle at a time.
Neville has helped me understand something that the angels have been teaching me throughout this journey: nothing is impossible, and no dream placed upon our heart is too big simply because we cannot see how it will happen. The human mind wants the details. How will I get there? Where will the money come from? Who will help me? What if it doesn't work?
Spirit asks a very different question: Can you believe it before you see it? Tonight I listened to Neville speak about gratitude, and something landed deeply in my heart. Gratitude is not a technique. It is not a spiritual tool we pull out when we want to manifest something.
Gratitude is a state of being.
I love that! When we truly live in gratitude, we are not saying, “Thank you, God, so that you will give me what I want.” We are saying, “Thank you, God, because I know I am already held, guided, loved and provided for.” There is a huge difference. One comes from wanting. The other comes from knowing. And suddenly I realized how many of the things we talk about spiritually are not things we do at all.
Trust is a state of being.
Abundance is a state of being.
Peace is a state of being.
Love is a state of being.
Gratitude is a state of being.
Perhaps even faith is simply the state of living as though God has already answered.
When I say, STCOM — Spirit Takes Care Of Me, I am not trying to convince Spirit to take care of me. I am reminding myself of what is already true. Spirit takes care of me. Not someday. Not when everything falls perfectly into place. Not after I have prayed enough, meditated enough, manifested correctly or figured out all the details. Now. This is where gratitude becomes powerful. We stop looking at the empty plate and asking when the meal will arrive. Instead, we begin to smell it, taste it and experience the joy of knowing that what is meant for us is already moving toward us in Divine timing.
Maybe that is the invitation today.
Instead of trying to practice gratitude, be grateful.
Instead of trying to create abundance, be abundant.
Instead of trying to find peace, be peace.
Instead of trying to learn trust, be trust.
Live from the state of already knowing that you are supported by a loving Divine presence that sees farther down the road than you ever could. And then whisper those beautiful words, “Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.” Not because you are trying to make something happen. Because somewhere deep within your soul, you know it already has.
Dear Angels, how do we move from hoping and wanting into the state of truly knowing that what we desire is already ours?
Dear Ones, you move into knowing when you release your insistence upon seeing evidence before you believe. You have been taught to trust what your physical eyes can see. We invite you to remember that your soul sees much farther. Gratitude opens this doorway.
When you give thanks from your heart, not as a request but as a recognition, you align yourself with the truth of Divine abundance. You cease asking, “Will I be taken care of?” and begin living from the knowing, “I am taken care of.” Do you feel the difference, Dear Ones? One carries uncertainty. The other carries peace.
You need not force gratitude. Simply notice what is already present. Notice the breath entering your body. Notice the love surrounding you. Notice the unexpected doors that have opened throughout your lifetime. Remember the moments when you could not see a way forward and yet a way appeared. These are your reminders. Allow them to bring you home to trust. Your dreams are not too large for the Creator who placed the ability to dream within you. Your path is not hidden from the Divine simply because you cannot yet see the next turn.
Give thanks.
Walk forward.
Trust.
And when your human mind begins asking how everything will happen, gently remind yourself: Spirit takes care of me. Then return to gratitude. Not as something you do. As who you are.
Angels Whisper: Gratitude is not waiting for the miracle and then saying thank you. Gratitude is recognizing that you are already standing inside the miracle.
Today, I promise to “be gratitude.”
