Achievements

“Sometimes, just carrying on is the superhuman achievement.” - Albert Camus

I went for a walk today … in the cold … with snow and ice still on the ground! Those who live here in Colorado think I am a wimp when I’m really just a Florida girl. Having lived in Florida most of my life, I have not had to shovel snow or learn to stay upright when the sidewalk wants to take you for a ride. Now I have done both and lived to tell about it. Little Trooper has not been happy with me and since today was a little warmer than it has been in quite a while, I bundled us both up and watched his excitement when I took out his leash. He was literally dancing at the front door. It has to be tough being a dog (or any animal) living in the extreme cold weather! He was so excited that he nearly pulled me down the driveway and headed toward the park. We couldn’t make it all the way as the sidewalk was only clear to a certain point and then it was a block of ice. Not wanting to chance a fall, I turned us around which was met with much resistance, as you can imagine. For me, this was a major triumph to just make it this far outside and it felt good both physically and mentally. Yes, it was a superhuman achievement for me. After depositing Trooper back in the house, I decided to see if I could take my bravery one step further and drive my car to the store. I know, impressive, right? Well, I did have success and it felt good to drive the Angelmobile again after it had been snowed in for almost two weeks.

Dear Angels, being brave does not have to mean jumping out of airplanes or climbing a tall mountain. Sometimes, it is facing the unknown or stepping just a little further than we did the day before.

Dear Ones, indeed bravery has to be put into perspective. Perhaps all you can do today is self-care and that’s okay. There is no comparison when it comes to living your life. You may sit back and watch others run circles around you as they do daily chores, projects, whatever they have on their to-do lists. Honor your own self and your own pace. Answer only to yourself and be okay with what you are able to do. The most important question for you to ask of yourself is “did I try” and then celebrate the wins. Do not focus on any perceived failures because there are none. In this holy moment are you doing the best you can with the resources you have? Keep yourself focused and centered by going inward with your breath. Connect in to the earth energy until you come into balance. Now focus on where you are and what you are doing. Bring your focus to one thing. Always know you can stay in the present moment by not being scattered or distracted. This is your life. Live it your way. Take it one moment at a time, staying present and celebrating you – the brave, beautiful you that deserves every good thing in life.

Dear Angels, thank you. I love you. Namaste y’all.

Today, I promise to stay present and in my heart.
