TRANSCENDING TIME’S ILLUSIONS

"The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they always see the past better than it was, the present worse than it is, and the future less resolved than it will be." - Marcel Pagnol

When the angels guided me to this quote, the first thing that came to mind was how we have a tendency to sometimes perceive the past as “the good ole days.” Not all of us had the storybook childhood or even early adulthood and not everyone had the nightmare on elm street experience either. Many times when we look “back in the day” the past can be seen as bathed in a golden light. The laughter seems louder, the sunsets more vibrant, the challenges… well, they seem to have faded into mere footnotes. We remember the highlights, the sweet moments, and set aside the gritty, everyday struggles that were just as much a part of that time. Then, we turn our gaze to the present which can feel heavy, can’t it? The weight of responsibilities, the ache of unmet desires, the constant buzz of modern life – it all seems magnified, distorted. We focus on the imperfections, the anxieties, the things that aren’t quite right. We lose sight of the small miracles, the everyday blessings, the moments of pure, unadulterated joy that are sprinkled throughout our days. And finally, we look to the future. It looms before us, a vast, uncertain landscape. We see not the potential, not the infinite possibilities, but the potential pitfalls, the "what ifs," the fear of the unknown. We paint it in shades of gray, a canvas of unresolved anxieties. This is why happiness often feels so elusive. We’re living in a distorted reality, a self-created illusion where the past is idealized, the present is vilified, and the future is feared.

Dear Angels, while this scenario does not apply to everyone, it certainly describes the process that happens when one gets caught up in thinking that happiness comes from outside of us. This morning, I woke myself up by laughing out loud. After I woke up, I continued to giggle as I had no idea what I had been laughing at. That started my day off on a wonderful vibration. I believe that we can create the day we want to have in the present moment. We get off kilter when we stay focused on the past and worry about the future. The moment we are in presently is all the guarantee we have. We can choose to stay a victim to the past and worry about the future or we can thrive in the now.

Dear Ones, the past, while holding precious memories, was also filled with challenges you have overcome. The present, though imperfect, is brimming with blessings and opportunities for growth. And the future, far from being a blank canvas of anxiety, is a field of infinite potential, waiting for you to plant the seeds of your dreams. To break free from this cycle, you must learn to be present. Truly present. To savor the moment, to find gratitude in the small things, to see the beauty that surrounds you right now. You must also learn to release the past, to let go of the idealized version you cling to, and to embrace the lessons it taught you without dwelling on what could have been. And the future? We encourage you to approach it with open hearts and a sense of wonder. Trust that the Universe is unfolding as it should, and that you have the power to shape your own destiny with your thoughts, your intentions, and your actions. Remember, Dear Ones, time is a river, ever flowing. You cannot change its course, but you can choose how you navigate it. We encourage you to choose to navigate it with grace, with gratitude, and with an unwavering belief in the beauty of each moment.

Angels Whisper: Release the grip of past illusions and the fear of future uncertainties. Anchor yourself in the sacred present. Here, in the quiet heart of now, you will find the peace you seek and the strength you need. Trust in the unfolding of your journey, for every moment holds a hidden blessing. Breathe in the light, and know that you are deeply loved, eternally guided, and infinitely capable of creating a beautiful, joyful present and future."

Today, I promise to stay centered in the present moment.
