RISING AGAINST THE WIND

“Kites rise highest against the wind, not with it.” Winston Churchill
There is something magical about watching a kite dance across the sky. I remember standing in an open field on a windy day, struggling to get the kite off the ground. The harder the wind blew, the more impossible it seemed. The kite twisted, dove, and tangled itself in frustration. Yet the moment I learned how to work with the wind instead of against it, everything changed. Suddenly it lifted higher and higher until it soared beautifully above me. Life often feels the same way.
We tend to think peace comes when everything is calm and easy, when no storms are brewing and no challenges are pushing against us. But the truth is that some of our greatest soul growth comes during the very seasons we wish would pass more quickly. The winds that seem to resist us are often the same winds trying to lift us higher. When we become too comfortable, too complacent, we stop stretching beyond what we already know. We stop questioning. We stop growing. The soul was never meant to remain motionless. It was created to expand, to discover, to awaken more deeply to love, purpose, and divine truth.
Yet resistance has a way of keeping us stuck. We resist change because it forces us to look inward. It reveals the places where fear still lives. It exposes insecurities we hoped no one would notice — even ourselves. Resistance magnifies our wounds, our mistakes, and our doubts. Like a kite fighting against the wind, we pull backward instead of allowing ourselves to rise. Sometimes the storms of life become so fierce that we feel as though we are being torn apart. Relationships shift. Dreams dissolve. Certainties disappear. The winds rip into the fragile fabric of who we believed ourselves to be. In those moments, it is easy to feel abandoned or broken.
But perhaps the storm is not here to destroy us. Perhaps it is here to remove the things we were never meant to carry. The angels remind me that transformation rarely feels comfortable while it is happening. The caterpillar likely does not understand the cocoon. The seed buried beneath the soil cannot yet imagine the flower. And we, in our human experience, often cannot see that the very thing challenging us may be the force lifting us toward our highest potential. The winds are not always punishment. Sometimes they are divine redirection.
What if the struggles you face today are not blocking your path, but strengthening your wings? What if the very thing you are resisting is preparing you to rise higher than you ever imagined?
Dear Angels, how do we stop fearing the storms of life and trust that they are helping us grow?
Dear Ones, the soul does not awaken fully in comfort alone. Just as the kite requires resistance from the wind to rise, your spirit often grows through challenge and uncertainty. The storms reveal where healing is needed and where attachment has limited your freedom. Do not fear the winds that shake your world. They are not always sent to break you apart, but to free you from what no longer serves your highest good. Trust that even in moments of discomfort, your wings are strengthening. You were created not merely to survive the winds of life, but to soar because of them.
Angels Whisper: The winds that challenge you today may be the very winds carrying you toward your highest destiny.
Today, I promise to rise to my highest potential by facing the storm.
