Practice Gratitude

“7 Effective Ways to Make Others Feel Important

1. Use their name.

2. Express sincere gratitude.

3. Do more listening than talking.

4. Talk more about them than about you.

5. Be authentically interested.

6. Be sincere in your praise.

7. Show you care.”

― Roy T. Bennett

Every day I find myself practicing gratitude more and more frequently. It can be as simple as saying “thank you” to cashiers, friends, people I know and people I don’t know. In practicing gratitude, I am showing love and love – for it to be real – does not discriminate, does not ignore, does not choose who is worthy or not to receive. Just today as I went through a drive-through to get a drink, I had to wait a few minutes because of the car ahead of me. I knew my total charge and had enough ready to hand to the cashier. However, upon reaching the window to pay, the total showing was different from what I had been told, much less actually. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that my price had been reduced because I had to wait. Wow, just wow. Manifestation at its finest! A simple “thank you” did not seem enough, so I left him a good tip to which he acknowledged the blessing. It was a win-win and both of were uplifted due to the experience where gratitude played a big role. There are so many ways to make others feel seen and heard, and I believe gratitude ranks at the very top of the list.

Dear Angels, I have learned a lot about gratitude from ungrateful people throughout the years. Sometimes when we encounter what we do not want, it makes us more aware of how we treat others. I want to strive to be the best example of what love looks like more so than displaying the opposite. It is my desire to leave each encounter I have in life knowing that I did my best to uplift instead of tearing down.

Dear Ones, your acts of benevolence come from a heart that is compassionate and kind. It is your true God-like nature to want to be a blessing to others. As you live in a world of duality and experience what your soul recognizes to be unlike love, your heart and brain seek to find balance in the midst of it all, actually seeking to bring the world back to a peaceful, kinder place to dwell. Each time you make a decision to add to the balance, you are serving God and your fellow man. It is when you choose instead to only think of what you gain from an experience that you tilt the scale back in the direction of chaos and confusion. We ask that you examine your heart when making choices. It will guide you if you choose to allow it to do so. Peace and harmony will not come in your world from anything on the outside. It is always an inside job.

Dear Angels, thank you. I love you. Namaste y’all.

Today, I promise to strive to always bring in more balance through my every action.
