LOVE IS WHERE JOY LIVES

“I slept and dreamt that life was joy.
I awoke and saw that life was service.
I acted and behold, service was joy.”— Rabindranath Tagore
In my younger years, I thought joy lived on sandy beaches, in long weekends free from school or work, in moments of rest and escape. I never imagined that at this stage of my life I would be on a peace mission, traveling the world in service to humanity and the planet. Truth be told, I never even imagined I would live this long—but God had other plans. What I know now, without question, is that I am more joyful than I have ever been. Joy did not arrive through ease or indulgence. It arrived through purpose. Being here in India has deepened this understanding in a way no book or teaching ever could. I watch people whose material possessions are few, yet whose hearts overflow with generosity. I see compassion woven into daily life—food shared freely, respect extended naturally, dignity honored simply because someone is human. There is an unspoken knowing here: we survive by helping one another. I have observed people offering meals to the guards who stand watch day and night, protecting a land that remains ever-aware of outside threats. I have stood near temples where lines form for what may be someone’s only meal of the day. I have watched—and participated—as my dear friend Pracheta distributed food in honor of her niece’s birthday, turning celebration into service. This, to me, is true community. Yes, India has its challenges. Not every person is benevolent. Not every interaction is gentle. But I choose to place my attention on those who are doing their part to make the world a better place. Where attention goes, energy flows—and I choose to fuel hope. Service has revealed itself as joy in action.
Dear Angels, how do we move beyond seeking joy for ourselves and instead discover the deeper joy that comes through service?
Dear Ones, joy is not something you chase—it is something you allow to move through you. In the early stages of life, joy often appears as pleasure, rest, or reward. These are not wrong; they are simply incomplete. As your soul matures, it longs for meaning rather than momentary happiness. This is when service begins to call. Service is not sacrifice. It is alignment. When you give from a heart guided by love—without attachment to recognition or outcome—you activate a divine flow. What you offer outward returns inward as fulfillment, peace, and quiet gladness. This is why joy expands the more you give. You are no longer living for yourself alone; you are living as part of the whole. You have seen this truth reflected around you. In shared meals, in open hands, in simple acts of kindness, humanity remembers itself. Every act of service—no matter how small—restores balance in the world and in your soul. Do not underestimate the power of your presence, your compassion, your willingness to care. When you serve with love, you become a living prayer. And in that sacred exchange, joy is no longer a dream—it is your way of being.
Angels Whisper: When you give with love, joy rises to meet you. Service is love in motion—and love is where joy lives.
Today, I promise to stay in joy and happily fulfil my mission.
