LOTUS RISING

There is something undeniably magical about seeing a lotus in bloom here in India. It feels like a sacred reminder rising right out of the earth—pure, radiant, and utterly unconcerned with the mud it springs from. In Hinduism, the lotus is so much more than a flower. It is enlightenment. It is purity. It is the quiet understanding that divine beauty can rise from the darkest places. It is believed that a lotus resides within every Hindu heart—and when that inner lotus opens, enlightenment blossoms. To be here in India, where the lotus is the national flower, is to be surrounded by that symbolism everywhere. Even more delightful is discovering lotus seeds—my new favorite snack! Who knew something born in the muck could taste so heavenly? And how fun that I can enjoy them when I get back home to the USA! As I crunch on the sweet, airy little seeds, I find myself reflecting on their origin. They begin in the mire, in darkness, unseen and uncelebrated. Yet they rise… until one day the world suddenly notices their beauty. I think of my own journey—the moments when life felt murky, uncertain, even messy. And still, something in me rose. Something in all of us rises. We are perhaps not as pristine as the lotus appears, but in God’s eyes we are perfectly unfolding—petal by petal, breath by breath, guided toward our own spiritual blooming.

Dear Angels, how do we become like the lotus—unaffected by the mud of our past and able to rise into our true beauty?

Dear Ones, when you look upon the lotus, you are witnessing your own soul’s story. The mud does not diminish the lotus—it strengthens it. Without the watery darkness, the lotus would have no place to anchor, no nourishment for growth, no contrast to reveal its radiance. So it is with you. Every moment that felt heavy… every sorrow… every doubt… every shadow… was not evidence of unworthiness. It was soil. It was compost for your awakening. It was the sacred ground from which your petals gathered strength. Understand this: you do not rise in spite of the mud— you rise because of it. To be “unaffected” does not mean ignoring your past; it means allowing your past to become wisdom rather than weight. When you remember who you truly are—Divine Light made manifest—nothing external can define you.

Keep turning toward the Light, just as the lotus reaches for the sun.

Keep unfolding, even if just one petal at a time.

Keep trusting that you are guided, held, and eternally becoming.

You, too, are a lotus—born from sacred earth, destined for sacred skies.

Angels Whisper: Beloved, your soul is always rising. Even when you cannot see your petals opening, Heaven sees your bloom. Trust the journey from mud to miracle—your radiance is inevitable.
