ALREADY HOME

“Every day is a journey, and the journey itself is home.”  Matsuo Basho

Today felt surreal in so many ways. There was a tremendous amount of energy moving as we took time to honor our beautiful Earth and intentionally send love deep into her very core. At different moments throughout the day, I found myself simply wanting to stop. To sit. To breathe. To take it all in. And perhaps that was exactly what I was supposed to do.

It was my birthday, which made the day even more meaningful. I was surrounded by love, beautiful energy, and people who reminded me simply by their presence that I am loved. That has not always been my experience. Growing up, birthdays were pretty much just another day. There were no brightly wrapped presents waiting for me, no birthday cakes glowing with candles, and no room full of voices singing “Happy Birthday.” I share that not from sadness or resentment. I do not fault my parents. They did the best they could with what they had and with what they knew at the time. That may sound cliché, but for me it is simply the truth. I hold no anger toward them. I have no desire to rewrite yesterday. Yesterday brought me here. And here is where I choose to live. Not in what I didn't receive. Not in what might have been. Not in wishing that some chapter of my story had been written differently.

Here.

Now.

In this breath.

In this moment, I am loved.

In this moment, I know who I am.

I know that I was created from pure love, by pure Love, to be love in this world. I know that I am a walking miracle. Every birthday reminds me of that truth in a profound way. I have been given more than fifty additional years in this lifetime because of the extraordinary love of my brother, who gave me a kidney, and because of the grace of God that has carried me through every year since.

How could I look at another birthday as “just another day”? Every candle represents another year I was given. Every sunrise is another gift. Every heartbeat is a celebration. Every breath is grace. Perhaps that is why Bashō's words touched me so deeply today: “Every day is a journey, and the journey itself is home.”

For years now, I have traveled this Peace On Earth journey without what most people would call a permanent home. I have stayed in many places, traveled countless roads, awakened in unfamiliar rooms, watched landscapes change outside my windshield, and trusted Spirit to show me where to go next. Somewhere along the way, I discovered something beautiful.

I am not homeless. I carry home with me.

Home is not an address.

Home is not four walls.

Home is not the place where we keep our belongings.

Home is where the heart remembers who it is.

Home is the moment when we stop searching outside ourselves for something to make us feel safe, complete, worthy, or loved and realize that the Divine Presence has been traveling with us all along. Maybe that is one of the greatest lessons of this journey. We spend so much of our lives trying to “get somewhere.” We tell ourselves we will finally be happy when we arrive, accomplish, obtain, heal, find the relationship, get the house, receive the answer, or understand the plan. But what if the destination was never the point? What if God is asking us to notice the sacredness of the road beneath our feet?

Today, as we sent love into Mother Earth, I felt her love coming right back.

I breathed.

I received.

I remembered.

I am here.

I am loved.

I am alive.

And wherever this journey takes me next, I am already home.

Dear Angels, how do we stop searching for home outside ourselves and recognize that we are already home wherever we are?

Dear Ones, home has never been simply a destination. Home is the remembrance of your Divine connection. You have been taught to identify safety with places, possessions, people, and circumstances. Yet all things in the physical world are temporary. Houses change. People come and go. Roads turn. Seasons shift. Bodies age. Circumstances transform. The eternal home you seek is within your connection to Divine Love. When you become fully present, you enter that home. When you breathe with gratitude, you enter that home. When you choose love over fear, you enter that home. When you look upon another being and recognize the Divine spark within them, you enter that home.

You do not have to wait until your journey becomes easier to feel at peace. You do not have to understand where the road is taking you. You need only remember Who walks beside you. God is not waiting at the destination. God is in every step. Your angels are not waiting for you at the finish line. We are traveling with you. So walk gently upon your beloved Earth. Bless the ground beneath your feet. Give thanks for the breath filling your lungs. Celebrate the miracle that you are here at this precise moment in eternity.

Do not measure your life only by the years you have lived. Measure it by the love you have given, the love you have received, the lives you have touched, and the moments when you were awake enough to recognize the miracle. You are not trying to find your way home, Dear Ones. You are remembering that you never left.

Angels Whisper: You are not waiting to arrive. You are already home. Home is the love within you, the Divine beside you, and the sacred Earth beneath your feet. Breathe deeply, Dear One. You are here. You are loved. You are home.

Today, I promise to remember every day where home is.
