“The world’s favorite season is the Spring. All things seem possible in May.” -Edwin Way Teale
While many celebrate Spring as their favorite season, I find my heart still drawn to the golden hush of Autumn. There is something about Fall that speaks to me in a language of release and reflection. And yet… when Spring arrives, even I cannot deny the quiet miracle it brings. After the long stillness of winter, there is a collective exhale. The earth softens. The light lingers. Life begins to stir again.
My friend Jean lovingly calls early winter the “stick season”—a time when the trees stand bare, stripped down to their essence. At first glance, it can feel empty… even lifeless. But we know better, don’t we? Because beneath that stillness, something sacred is happening. Roots are deepening. Energy is gathering. Life is preparing for its next expression. And then, almost as if overnight, Spring arrives—not loudly, but gently—whispering, “Begin again.” Tiny buds appear where there was once only barrenness. Color returns where there was only gray. Hope rises where there was quiet waiting.
Spring reminds us that nothing is ever truly lost. It is only resting… transforming… becoming. Even in the seasons of our own lives when we feel like we are standing in our own “stick season,” stripped of what once felt familiar or comfortable, something within us is still growing. Something within us is preparing to bloom. And perhaps that is the true gift of Spring—not that it replaces Winter, but that it reveals what Winter was quietly creating all along.
Dear Angels, how do we trust the seasons of our lives—especially when we feel like we are in our own “stick season”?
Dear Ones, trust is born not from what you can see, but from what you are willing to believe. In your “stick seasons,” when all appears bare and uncertain, you are not empty—you are essential. You are being refined, simplified, and brought back to your core truth. Just as the trees do not question their bareness, you are not meant to judge your seasons of stillness. Nothing in nature rushes its becoming. The roots grow deeper in the unseen. The strength builds in the silence. The next expression of your life is quietly forming beneath the surface of your awareness. You often mistake stillness for stagnation, but we tell you—stillness is sacred preparation. When you feel stripped of what once defined you, you are being invited to rediscover who you are without conditions. And from that place… true blossoming occurs. Trust the rhythm. Trust the timing. Trust the quiet. For just as Spring never fails to arrive, neither does your renewal. You are always becoming.
Angels Whisper: Even in your quietest season, life is preparing something beautiful within you.
Today, I promise to enjoy the newness of Spring.
