“Strive so that kindness and compassion guide your life. Never give up.” the Dalai Lama
The Dalai Lama is turning 90 years old in a couple of days. His journey in this lifetime is one of struggle for freedom from Communist rule. He was recognized as the current Dalai Lama when he was two years old and officially took the position at age 15. Realizing that humans do not live forever, the question now is who will succeed him in the important role of the Dalai Lama and the future of Tibetan Buddhism. He has hopes of living into his 100’s and I selfishly am hoping that will be the case. I have an upcoming journey to India later this year and am setting an intention to have a private audience with him to ask him to bless the Peace On Earth Tour.
Dear Angels, how can we cultivate kindness and compassion in our daily lives, which is the vision and teaching of this beautiful spiritual leader?
Dear Ones, your question speaks to the heart of your divine purpose. Know that kindness and compassion are not qualities you must create, but gifts already woven into your being, waiting to be uncovered. When you feel overwhelmed or discouraged, pause and breathe deeply, for in that sacred breath, you reconnect with the eternal love that flows through you. To cultivate kindness, begin with yourself. Speak gently to your own heart, forgiving your perceived flaws and honoring your efforts. This inner kindness becomes a wellspring, overflowing into your interactions with others. Notice the small moments—offer a word of encouragement, hold space for someone’s pain, or simply listen without the need to fix. These acts, though they may seem modest, are profound in their impact, for they align you with the frequency of love. Compassion grows through presence. When you encounter another’s struggle, resist the urge to turn away or judge. Instead, imagine their heart as a mirror of your own, carrying dreams and wounds not so different from yours. Ask yourself, “What would ease their burden?” Sometimes, it is a gesture; other times, it is simply seeing them as they are, without expectation. This seeing is a sacred act, a bridge between souls. The world is healed through your persistence, and we celebrate every moment you choose love over fear. Trust that you are enough, and let that truth anchor you.
Angels Whisper: Your heart is a beacon. Shine it boldly, and never doubt its power to change the world, one kind act at a time.
Today, I promise to always be aware of my actions towards others and strive to be more compassionate and kind.
