WHEN THE HEART BECOMES THE EYE

“We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are.” – Anaïs Nin
Tonight, as I sat in deep conversation with my dear friend Nivritti, this quote echoed through my heart like a temple bell. It landed with such force and clarity that I felt my entire inner landscape shift. Here we are—two women watching the same streets, the same people, the same colorful symphony of India—and yet perceiving it through completely different lenses. I look at India as a guest in a sacred land, enchanted by its color, rhythm, and spiritual pulse. Every smile feels like a blessing, every gesture of kindness a love note from the Divine. I see generosity in the way drivers weave through traffic without collision, allowing one another to enter the flow as if guided by an unseen choreography. I experience warmth as strangers patiently help me through language barriers. But my beloved friend experiences India as her home. She drives these roads daily, braves the bustling markets, and navigates moments where people might try to take advantage of a single woman. Her experience is shaped by lived reality, mine by awe and gratitude. Same world… different windows. This contrast led me into deep contemplation. Where, truly, is the difference in perception happening? Interestingly, tonight I also began a course of study on awareness. The very first question asked was, “Who is the Knower?”
Is the knower the mind? The body? Or is the knower the boundless field of pure consciousness that simply IS—before thought, before interpretation, before identity? Does pure consciousness witness our experiences and then filter them through the stories we have gathered across lifetimes? Is that why one person sees chaos where another sees harmony… one sees danger where another sees Divine flow… one sees limitation and another possibility? Are we all simply experiencing the One Consciousness through the unique prism of our individual “I Am”? With these questions swirling in my heart, I turned inward—and asked the Angels.
Dear Angels, how do we truly see? And how can we learn to see through the lens of Divine clarity rather than personal illusion?
Dear Ones, you are beginning to remember something profound: vision does not come from the eyes. It comes from the soul. Every being views the world through layers—memories, beliefs, cultural imprinting, past experiences, emotional resonance, and even soul agreements. Each layer shapes perception, bending light the way a prism bends color. This is why two people can stand side-by-side and experience two different realities. You do not see what “is.” You see what aligns with your current vibration, your expectations, and your inner landscape. This is not a flaw; it is a gift. For perception is one of the great teachers of the human journey. We ask you to remember:
Pure Consciousness sees only Love.
The ego sees through separation.
The heart sees through compassion.
The soul sees through remembrance.
When you seek to understand how another perceives the world, you begin to dissolve the illusion of separateness. You step into sacred compassion. You enter unity. So when perspectives differ, do not seek to make yours “right.” Instead, ask, “What is this showing me about my own lens? What is this revealing about theirs? And how can I love us both through it?”
As you evolve, your vision will evolve. As your heart expands, so does your clarity. As your consciousness awakens, you will begin to see not with eyes… but with Light. And in that Light, Dear One, all perspectives merge into the Oneness that you already are.
Angels Whisper: Clear your inner lens, Beloved. The world becomes clearer when you become softer.
See with love, and you will see truly.”
Today, I promise to stop looking with my physical eyes only but take a moment to see through my inner lens.
