Quietness

"The quieter you become, the more you can hear." I read that quote this morning and it was just what I needed. It is in the quiet moments that we shut out our own thoughts and truly listen to what Spirit has to say to us. My mind has been so busy lately with preparations for publishing the new book and I have found myself getting frustrated after sitting for prolonged periods of time trying to make sure each I is dotted and each T crossed, so to speak. Not only is my physical body tired but my brain is tired and just wants time now to process, to be still and listen. We all need that in our lives. The busyness sometimes gets overwhelming, especially this time of year when there is so much going on. Let's not forget the most important thing -- to take care of ourselves. This means in all ways -- mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically. All of these need our attention. Just as our bodies need to be bathed, our spirit needs to be "cleansed" as well. Take the time to sit and listen for messages from Spirit. It is so easy to let days go by without any interaction of the spiritual kind when the material world is demanding so much of us. So just for today, choose to become quiet. Choose a time and place where you can just sit quietly, if only for a few minutes, and just be still and listen. You may be pleasantly surprised at how you will feel afterwards. For me, it is like walking through a waterfall and then lying back and soaking in the refreshing water. May you have a wonderful day.
