SOUL LOVE

“I love you neither with my heart
nor with my mind.
My heart might stop
my mind can forget.
I love you with
my soul because
my soul never stops
or forgets."
-Rumi
There is a kind of love that the world tries to teach us—structured, conditional, and often rooted in survival. And then there is the love of the soul… infinite, unwavering, and untouched by circumstance. In our early years, we are like open vessels, absorbing what love looks like through the actions of those around us. For many, childhood was not wrapped in softness or reassurance. Instead, it was shaped by necessity—learning how to survive rather than how to feel, how to endure rather than how to be held.
I understand this journey. There was a time when love, to me, was not something I could define. It was not modeled in a way that felt safe or consistent. The focus was on getting through the day, meeting basic needs, and navigating a world that did not pause for emotional nurturing. Like so many of my generation—the “latchkey children”—we learned independence early, but often at the cost of understanding connection. And yet…even in the absence of visible love, the soul remembers. Because love was never truly missing. It lived quietly beneath the surface, waiting. Waiting for awareness. Waiting for healing. Waiting for remembrance.
You see, those who came before us were also shaped by their own experiences. Many were doing the best they could with what they knew. Their limitations were not a reflection of our worth—they were reflections of their own unhealed places. This is where compassion becomes our bridge. When we begin to see through the eyes of the soul, we soften. We release blame. We understand that love, in its truest form, is not something we were meant to learn from others—it is something we were born as. The journey, then, is not about finding love. It is about remembering it. And this remembering does not come from the mind, which questions…nor from the heart, which can be wounded. It comes from the soul—steady, eternal, and whole.
Dear Angels, how do we reconnect with the love we were born as but may not have experienced growing up?
Dear Ones, love has never left you. It has only been waiting for your awareness. Do not search for it in the past, where memories may feel incomplete. Do not measure it through others, who were walking their own path. Instead, come into this present moment.
Place your hand upon your heart and breathe.
Feel the quiet presence within you.
That stillness… that warmth… that knowing…
That is us.
That is love.
That is you.
When you choose compassion—for yourself and for those who could not show you what you needed—you open the doorway to your own soul’s truth. And from that place, love flows freely… not because it was given to you, but because it has always been you.
Angels Whisper: Love is not something you earn or learn—it is something you remember. Your soul has never forgotten.
Today, I promise to reconnect daily with the love that I was created to be.
