“Butterflies are self-propelled flowers.” Enrique (tour guide at Flamingo Botanical Gardens
It was the end of March and a day spent in nature was just what the doctor ordered for me, and I believe for my three friends who joined in for the adventure as well. Simply being in a magical place where nature puts on its best show is amazing. We walked and oohed and aahed at trees that seemed to be ancient with their spreading limbs and trunks that were massive. Upon entering the park, we were greeted by peacocks. My friend Jim had bought some of the packaged food that was approved to share with the birds, but we were so excited to see them that we didn’t think to share with the ones we first encountered. That joy would come later in the journey. As we walked along, we met birds of many varieties including peacocks, pelicans, Muscovy ducks, anhinga, egrets, herons, flamingos and my favorite the redtail hawk. As I passed a curious pelican, it pecked at my bag – perhaps it liked the look of my Kashmir tote.
One of the offerings at the park was a tram ride tour. We happily hopped on and were delighted at our tour guide, Enrique. His sense of humor was delightful. He laughed at his own jokes and continuously lost his place in what he wanted to share with us as he would get caught up in things such as rescuing a mama Egyptian goose who seemed to be having difficulty joining her mate and six babies. We were there just at the right moment to see this miracle and I was introduced to these beautiful creatures for the first time. We came to one of the stops on the tour which was a butterfly encounter. Before we got off to explore, Enrique shared his thoughts on butterflies saying they are “self-propelled flowers.” I quickly jotted that down as it struck me as so poetic. The whole experience was full of things happening in Divine time. Enrique had stated that it was not quite mating season for the peacocks although that didn’t stop them from trying. We watched this play out in front of us as we took a break and sat on a bench. The males would yell their mating cry and open up their elaborate, iridescent tail trains to females (peahens) to demonstrate fitness. We watched as the peahens wanted no part of that and kept their distance. I guess the males didn’t get the memo that it was not yet time. We also arrived at the end of the tram tour just at the right moment to catch a glimpse of the Florida panther as it was his feeding time. There were so many miracles experienced in this outing in nature.
Dear Angels, it is so simple to connect in with nature in our world and yet we continue to focus on other happenings that draw us into a lower vibration. I know we live in a world of duality and contrast but how can we make it more of a priority to ground our energy in positivity and beauty so that the negativity can be faced with more confidence and remembrance of who we truly are as spirit beings? How do we keep focused on the fact that what we choose to be surrounded by is truly a decision that we make every moment?
Dear Ones, we have shared before that you often overcomplicate what is truly simple. Take a moment to slow down, breathe deeply, and return to simplicity and to nature. So often you are pulled into drama and trauma, believing it is your role to “fix” something or someone—but there is nothing broken.
If a situation continues to stir your emotions, gently ask yourself why your focus remains there. Are you holding an expectation that has not arrived in the way—or timing—you imagined? Consider the peacock, who may have arrived too early for the gathering. In Divine timing, all unfolds with grace: doors open, needs are met, and miracles appear in an instant. But if you walk away too soon, as the peacocks did, you may miss what you have been waiting for—the very desire that was on its way to you all along.
Angels Whisper: Trust the sacred timing of your life. What is meant for you is already moving toward you, even when you cannot yet see it. Release the need to fix, to force, to figure it all out. Simply remain present, open, and aligned with love. Do not walk away in doubt— your miracle may be only moments behind you. Stay…and allow it to find you.
Today, I promise to have more patience with the things I hold an unrealistic expectation about.
