ANGELS AND ACCEPTANCE

Pink and red flowers bloom in a garden with green leaves. The soil is visible, and the word "Me!" appears near a small white flower.
Be unapologetically you!

“Do not seek for things to happen the way you want them to; rather, wish that what happens happen the way it happens: then you will be happy." - Epictetus

I have never considered myself a stoic. And yet, in a heartfelt conversation with a dear friend today, she gently reflected back to me the way I move through life’s challenges. Her words lingered. Being a researcher at heart, I turned to good old Google and found this description: A stoic person remains calm, disciplined, and rational in the face of adversity, focusing on what they can control—their thoughts and actions—and accepting what they cannot—external events and others’ choices. They are not emotionless, but intentional in how they respond, seeking inner peace, resilience, and virtue rather than being ruled by fear, anger, or pain.

Theek hai—which in Punjabi means okay. I definitely didn’t have stoic on my life’s Bingo card, but there it was, in black and white. This realization came after many years of banging my head against invisible walls and crying out to the Universe, “When will it change? When will they change?” What I have learned—slowly, sometimes painfully—is that acceptance of what we can and cannot change is one of the first great steps in spiritual evolution. If that makes me a stoic, then so be it. I will wear it as a badge of growth. I choose the path of the peaceful warrior. I choose not to allow worry, anger, or regret to define my life experience.

Today, I quietly marked the birthday of my daughter, with whom I have no contact. I whispered love into the ethers, wished her well wherever she may be, and asked the angels to wrap her in care and protection. Would I like things to be different? Of course. But I cannot change her choices—and so I choose inner peace instead. For anyone walking the tender path of estrangement from a loved one, please know this: I see you. I understand your pain. And it is my prayer that you find peace in your life, because peace changes everything. It allows you to move forward with grace rather than remain anchored in heartbreak or hopelessness.

Dear Angels, how do we release the need to control outcomes—especially when our hearts are involved—and find peace with what is?

Dear Ones, peace is not found in the shaping of events, but in the softening of your resistance to them. You are not here to control the currents of life, but to learn how to float upon them with trust. When you loosen your grip on “how it should be,” you make room for grace to enter. There is wisdom in discernment—knowing what is yours to tend and what must be placed in Divine hands. When you focus on your thoughts, your choices, your love, you align with your true power. When you release the rest, you align with freedom. Your heart does not harden when you accept; it expands. Acceptance is not surrender to pain—it is surrender to peace. And peace, beloved, is strength. It is the quiet courage of the soul that knows it is held, guided, and never alone. Trust that every prayer you whisper is heard. Trust that love, once released, continues its work far beyond what your eyes can see.

Angels Whisper: Peace arrives the moment you stop arguing with what is—and begin trusting that Love is still at work.

Today, I promise to stay at peace and own my stoicism.
