STOP DIGGING UP SEEDS

“There is no chance, no destiny, no fate that can hinder or control the firm resolve of a determined soul.” —Ella Wheeler Wilcox

I am pretty stubborn and that is just one fact about me. I accept it. I own it. It has worked well for me many times in life. When it comes to manifesting what we desire, I think it is a good trait. It certainly helps when there is a need to focus on whatever it is that is a goal. Many teachers of spiritual principles of manifesting talk about nonresistance. Here is how I see it. Imagine standing in a river and trying to push the water backward. You could expend enormous energy, but the river would continue flowing. Many of us approach manifestation in much the same way.

We say:

“I want abundance.”

Then immediately think:

“But I don't have enough.”

We say:

“I want love.”

Then think:

“But nobody ever stays.”

We say:

“I trust God.”

Then spend the next three hours trying to figure out exactly how God is going to solve the problem.

The desire is moving in one direction while our fear is pulling us in another.

This creates resistance.

The problem is not that having a fearful thought magically prevents good things from happening. Rather, fear and fixation can narrow our attention, make us impatient, and lead us to overlook possibilities or force outcomes that are not right for us.

Nonresistance creates another possibility: Desire without desperation.

Dear Angels, how can we apply the principle of nonresistance in our lives when we sometimes get discouraged or see only what we don’t have instead of possibilities?

Dear Ones, there is a beautiful paradox in manifestation. You can deeply desire something without desperately needing it. Suppose you plant a seed. You prepare the soil. You water it. You give it sunlight. But you don't dig it up every morning to see whether it has started growing. That would interfere with the very process you are trying to encourage. You sometimes do this with your manifestation intentions.

“Where is it?”

“Why hasn't it happened?”

“Did I affirm enough?”

“Am I doing something wrong?”

“What if it never comes?”

That is spiritually digging up the seed. Instead: Plant. Nurture. Trust. Act when guided. Allow.

One of the greatest forms of resistance is attachment to how something must happen. You do this when you decide that this person must help me, this opportunity must work, the money must come from this source, the answer must arrive by this date, the relationship must look this way, the manifestation must follow the picture in my mind. But what if there is another path? You can hold the essence of what you desire while loosening your grip on the route by which it arrives. Instead of “This is exactly how it must happen,” Try: “This, or something aligned with my highest good, is welcome in my life. Show me the way.”

Proverbs 3:5–6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

There is tremendous wisdom in those words. The human mind wants evidence before it trusts. Faith often asks you to trust before the evidence appears. Nonresistance becomes an expression of faith when you say, “I have done what I know to do. I am listening for guidance. I do not need to force the next step.”

There are times to act boldly. There are times to knock on doors. There are times to speak. And there are times to become still enough to recognize which door is actually opening.

Angels Whisper: Loosen your grip. What is meant to flow into your life does not require you to exhaust yourself trying to control every current. Set your intention with love. Listen for guidance. Move when you are called to move and become still when you are called to be still. Your work is not to command the river. Your work is to remain awake as you travel upon it. Open your hands. Open your heart. Trust, allow and receive.

Today, I promise to practice nonresistance in my life.
