SMILING INTO PRESENCE

“Keep smiling, because life is a beautiful thing and there’s so much to smile about.” —Marilyn Monroe

I haven’t always smiled—the real smile, the kind that arrives without effort, without a reminder, without performance. There were seasons when smiling felt foreign, even impossible. Yet I found my smile when I reconnected with my spirit inside and allowed it to be reflected on the outside. Here in India, as I learn Sudarshan Kriya, I am often prompted by the teacher to smile as I breathe in and out. At first, it feels intentional—almost like an assignment. But this breathing practice harmonizes the body, mind, and emotions, and something beautiful unfolds when breath and awareness meet. As my breath found its rhythm, the smile followed naturally. I felt calm yet energized, focused yet relaxed—present. After a few minutes, I noticed I no longer needed the prompt. The smile simply happened.

My dear friend Mari-Etta once shared that SMILE stands for Spirit Magnifies Incredible Loving Energy. She is so right. When we give our body what it requires—presence, breath, gentleness—it responds in the most beautiful ways. A smile becomes not just an expression, but a prayer. A signal to the soul that all is well in this moment.

Dear Angels, is smiling really that powerful? Can something so simple truly shift our energy and our lives?

Dear Ones, a smile is far more than a curve of the lips; it is a doorway. When you smile with awareness, you invite harmony into every cell of your being. Breath opens the body; a smile opens the heart. Together, they create coherence—aligning your thoughts, emotions, and spirit. Smiling does not deny pain, nor does it pretend that all is perfect. Instead, it acknowledges your sovereignty over the moment. It says, “I choose presence. I choose love.” When you smile, you signal safety to your nervous system and kindness to the world. You become a beacon—softening edges, lifting heaviness, and allowing joy to find you again. Practice smiling as you breathe. Let it be gentle. Let it be real. Over time, you will find that the smile no longer needs to be summoned—it will arise as a natural reflection of your inner peace.

Angels Whisper: Breathe. Soften. Smile. Your joy is a frequency, and the world responds when you tune to it.

Today, I promise to keep smiling.
