RINGING THE BELL OF HOPE

Two smiling women stand close in a restaurant with orange booths. Sign reads "El Charrito" on a decorated wall. Warm, inviting atmosphere.

"What matters most is how we respond to what we experience in life" — Stephen R. Covey

There are moments in life when we are reminded that strength is not always loud. Sometimes strength looks like getting out of bed when your body aches. Sometimes it looks like showing up for another appointment when fear whispers in your ear. Sometimes strength is simply taking the next breath and trusting God with the next step. Last year my sister received a breast cancer diagnosis. The moment she told me, my heart immediately understood the weight of those words because I have walked that road myself. There is something about hearing the word “cancer” that can stop time for a moment. Suddenly life changes. Priorities shift. The little things no longer seem so important. What matters most becomes love, faith, family, and finding the courage to keep moving forward one day at a time. Today I stood beside her as she rang the bell at the cancer treatment center, marking the completion of her radiation treatments. The sound of that bell echoed through more than just the hallway. It echoed through every difficult moment she endured to get there. Every sleepless night. Every moment of exhaustion. Every tear. Every prayer. Every ounce of determination it took to keep going when she felt overwhelmed.

I am so incredibly proud of her. She did not surrender to fear. She did not allow the storm to define her spirit. I have watched her walk through challenge after challenge in life with a quiet resilience that inspires me deeply. There were times the burdens seemed relentless, times when grief and fatigue tried to pull her under. Yet somehow she kept putting one foot in front of the other. That is courage.

So often we think courage means never feeling afraid or never feeling weak. But true courage is continuing forward even while trembling. It is allowing yourself to feel the pain without allowing the pain to take your light. As I stood beside her today, I found myself thanking God not only for her strength, but for the blessing of simply being present. Sometimes we cannot fix what our loved ones are going through. We cannot carry the pain for them. But we can sit beside them in the storm. We can hold their hand. We can pray. We can love them through it.

That matters.

The angels remind me often that life will always bring experiences we did not ask for. We cannot control every circumstance that arrives at our doorstep, but we can choose how we meet those moments. We can meet them with bitterness or with grace. With fear or with faith. With hopelessness or with trust that God is walking beside us through every valley.

Dear Angels, how do we remain strong when life feels overwhelming and the challenges keep coming?

Dear Ones, strength is not measured by the absence of tears. It is measured by the willingness to continue loving, hoping, and trusting even when life feels uncertain. Every challenge you face becomes an opportunity to remember who you truly are — a soul filled with Divine Light. Do not condemn yourself for moments of exhaustion or grief. Even the strongest trees bend in heavy winds. Allow yourself to rest when needed, but do not forget your roots. You are supported more than you realize. Heaven walks beside you in every hospital room, every fearful thought, every prayer whispered in the dark. When you stand beside another in compassion, you become an angel in human form. Continue forward with faith, one step at a time, and know that love is carrying you farther than fear ever could.

Angels Whisper: Sometimes the greatest victories are not the battles the world applauds, but the quiet moments when a weary soul chooses to rise again with faith in their heart.

Today, I promise to hold onto hope.
