LIVE BIG

"Life is too short to be little." — Dale Carnegie
One of the phrases I saw repeatedly at the Transplant Games was simple yet profound: "Life's Short Live It." Those words carried more weight than perhaps the people wearing the shirts even realized. They were not just a catchy slogan—they were a declaration made by people who understand the preciousness of every single day. When you have looked death in the eye, whether through illness, an accident, or the gift of an organ transplant, life stops being something to take for granted. It becomes something sacred. Every sunrise becomes a gift. Every conversation becomes meaningful. Every hug lasts a little longer.
Watching and participating in this gathering filled my heart with hope. There was laughter echoing through the venue, tears of gratitude shared between strangers who instantly became family, and an overwhelming feeling that life is meant to be lived—not merely survived.
What does it mean to be little? Perhaps it means allowing fear to keep us from following our dreams. Perhaps it means holding grudges that only weigh down our own hearts. Maybe it means believing we are insignificant or that our voice doesn't matter. Every person I met at the Transplant Games shattered that illusion. I met recipients who had turned their second chance into a mission of service. Living donors who quietly gave part of themselves so someone else could continue living. Families who transformed unimaginable grief into hope by saying yes to organ donation. None of them were living little lives. They were living lives of extraordinary courage wrapped inside ordinary moments. It made me pause and ask myself, What would the world look like if each of us truly understood how precious this day is?
Would we complain less?
Would we forgive more quickly?
Would we tell the people we love that we love them?
Would we stop waiting for the "perfect" time to write the book, take the trip, make the phone call, volunteer, or simply sit outside and watch the sunset?
Life has a way of reminding us that tomorrow is never guaranteed. Yet that realization doesn't have to create fear. Instead, it can awaken gratitude. The angels often remind me that our soul did not come here merely to exist. We came to experience life in all its colors—to laugh deeply, love generously, serve compassionately, and leave the world a little brighter than we found it. Being "big" has nothing to do with fame, wealth, or recognition. A big life is measured by the love we share. It is found in encouraging someone who feels alone. It is choosing kindness when anger would be easier. It is helping a stranger. It is blessing the Earth. It is becoming fully present with those around us. Every small act of love creates ripples far beyond what we can see.
The transplant community understands this better than most. One person's decision to become an organ donor can save multiple lives and touch hundreds more through the generations that follow. What could seem like one small decision becomes an enormous legacy of love. Perhaps that is one of the greatest lessons any of us can learn.
Life is indeed short. But love makes it eternal.
Dear Angels, how do we stop living small and begin living the life our soul came here to experience?
Dear Ones, you become expansive the moment you remember who you are. You are not here to hide your light or diminish your gifts. You are here to become an expression of Divine Love in a world that often forgets its own beauty.
Do not wait for perfect circumstances before you begin living fully.
Love today.
Forgive today.
Laugh today.
Create today.
Serve today.
The size of your life is never determined by the number of years you are given but by the amount of love you choose to share within them. Every breath is a new beginning. Every heartbeat is another opportunity to become more of who you truly are.
Angels Whisper: Do not measure your life by its length. Measure it by the love you leave behind. Live boldly, love generously, and let every day become a sacred gift.
Today, I promise to continue to cherish each moment I have been given to walk on this earth.
