EVERY DAY IS A GIFT

“Each day comes bearing its gifts. Untie the ribbon.” —Ann Ruth Schabacker
There is something sacred about waking up to a brand-new day. Each morning arrives wrapped like a present, quietly waiting for our attention. Every day holds the same number of hours, the same minutes ticking faithfully forward, yet how differently those hours are lived. As I glance at the calendar, I’m aware of how quickly this new year is already unfolding. Days can slip by unnoticed if we are not mindful, leaving us wondering where the time went. Each moment presents a choice—how we speak, where we focus, what we prioritize. Some choices expand us; others gently teach us through contrast. Being here in India has heightened my awareness of this truth. My days are rich with connection, laughter, and unexpected blessings. Today overflowed with joy—shared stories, deep friendship, and the kind of laughter that nourishes the soul. Seeing my sister’s face on a video call filled my heart, reminding me how love transcends distance. I long to hold her soon, even as I savor every remaining moment in this extraordinary land. There is still so much I want to experience here, and I find myself wishing I could bottle this sense of peace and joy and carry it home with me. Perhaps the real gift, though, is learning that peace is not bound to a place—it is something we unwrap within ourselves, one day at a time.
Dear Angels, How can we become more aware of the gifts hidden in each day instead of letting time slip through our fingers?
Dear Ones, Each day arrives in your life as a living invitation. It is wrapped not in perfection, but in possibility. When you rush through your moments, the ribbon remains tied and the gift unopened. Presence is the key that loosens the knot. You are not asked to do more, rush faster, or collect experiences out of fear of missing something. You are invited to receive. When you pause, breathe, and acknowledge the moment you are in, you activate gratitude—and gratitude reveals the treasure hidden inside even the simplest day. Peace is not something you must carry home from faraway lands; it is something you cultivate wherever your feet touch the earth. Joy multiplies when you savor rather than hurry, when you bless the moment instead of chasing the next one. Trust that what is meant for you will meet you in divine timing. Your role is simply to show up awake, willing, and open-hearted. Give these suggestions a try and see what a difference they will make in your days:
Begin with intention: Each morning, ask, “What gift is waiting for me today?”
Practice presence: Pause several times a day to breathe deeply and notice where you are and how you feel.
Honor connection: Reach out to someone you love, even briefly, and let gratitude flow.
Release urgency: Remind yourself that joy is not found in doing more, but in being fully here.
Reflect at night: Before sleep, name at least one gift the day offered you.
Angels Whisper: Beloved, today is enough. Untie its ribbon slowly, for within it is peace, love, and a reminder that you are never missing out—only being gently guided.
Today, I promise to find the gift in each day.
