The True Self

“We can easily manage if we will only take, each day, the burden appointed to it. But the load will be too heavy for us if we carry yesterday’s burden over again today, and then add the burden of the morrow before we are required to bear it.” ―John Newton

It seems such a no-brainer, doesn’t it? When we continue to carry worries forward to a new day, they just keep accumulating and nothing gets resolved. How do we even get ourselves into that state of worry? Mostly, we worry about things that are out of our control. Then it becomes very easy to get so worried about the challenges facing us that we just freeze up and quit. It's very easy to get discouraged. It's very easy to feel that our problem is so big and so scary that there's really no way out from under it. Some people think about giving up when all hope is lost. What’s happening here is that we are just taking the path of least resistance; looking at the situation from the perspective of somebody who wants to do the least work. However, every challenge does not have to be scary. Every challenge does not have to have the potential of crushing and stealing our dreams. It will be as monumental as we allow it to be.

Dear Angels, to me worry and fear go hand in hand. It is really scary to think that there is no way out of a situation, especially when we really try to accomplish something and do not see any results. That’s when we seem to allow ourselves to worry even though we are consciously aware that it will only make things worse.

Dear Ones, when you find it difficult to get in the flow, ask yourself where the perceived obstacle is within you. Yes, it is always within you, not somewhere out there in your world. You can blame and make excuses about how you are treated by others, how you are a victim; but, Dear Ones, you are the only one who has control of you. If you are giving up that control, that is something for you to meditate on to find out what is causing you to do so. There are only two options as you go through life – fear and love. When you are listening to your ego thoughts and trying to reason and justify everything, fear has an opportunity to sneak in the door. Love will always uplift and support you. When you stay in your heart and come from that knowingness that you are love, your heart will guide you in the right direction. Many times, the problem is that you lose patience. That is when the burdens of one day stack onto the burdens of the next and so on until you are buried underneath and then it becomes impossible to see your way out. When you are coming from the heart center and being guided by Spirit, you are being true to yourself. Being true to yourself is not about pleasing others, hurting others, judging yourself or others or becoming a victim. Your true self is empowered, caring, compassionate and free of comparison thoughts. You are uniquely and perfectly made, so why are you allowing yourself to bring doubt and worry into your amazing being? Own your Divine magnificence.

Dear Angels, thank you for the reminder. I love you. Namaste y’all.

Today, I promise to be my true self.
