I have been “alone” for over a decade in the fact that I am a single woman without a partner. Many people have chimed in with their opinion about that but ultimately it is my choice and I am absolutely happier than I have ever been in my life and do not feel that I am missing out on anything. I used to think this was not possible. I thought being alone equaled lonely. For me, this is not the case; however, I do know that is not true for all who are single. Being alone means simply that, being by oneself without any company, whereas loneliness refers to the emotional state of feeling disconnected, isolated, and unfulfilled even when surrounded by others. Being alone can be a chance for solitude, reflection, and personal growth. Sometimes, people need to be alone to recharge their batteries, focus on their goals, or enjoy their own company. Being alone can also be a peaceful and rejuvenating experience, free from the demands and expectations of others. It is possible to be alone and happy, just as it is possible to be in a crowd of people and feel lonely. Ultimately, both being alone and loneliness are part of the human experience.
Dear Angels, we arrive in this world alone. Sure, we have caretakers but they are not inside our head directing us. Thus, from our very first moments of life we are figuring out what it means to be alone and what it is like to interact with others. Are babies lonely during their incubation state in the womb or is loneliness something that we learn?
Dear Ones, loneliness is an emotional state of mind. As a child develops in the womb, they are aware of the mother’s emotional state because all emotions have an effect on the body. If you pay attention to how your body responds to your emotional state, you will see how important it is to remain positive as much as possible. The lower vibrations of worry, stress, anger, depression tend to dim your light and thus create a more sluggish energy in your physical body. Your cells cannot perform to their utmost ability without light. You can make a conscious decision every day to reach for more joy in your life. We understand the struggles that will be there to pull you down, but you have the ability to rise up in any given moment. You are not alone. Allow yourself to be nurtured and loved by those in your life who show up for you. Just as the baby is aware of the emotions of the mother, tap into the energy of those surrounding you. Is it positive or is it a negative environment that is pulling you downward? You always have a choice of who you surround yourself with.
